Cheyenne Jackson Shares ‘Horrible Secret’ of Scars From Multiple Hair Transplant Surgeries
Lately there has been a lot of talk about celebrities and plastic surgery during the COVID-19 pandemic. One person who decided to talk openly about his previous procedures is Cheyenne Jackson.
The American Horror Story actor decided to reveal his “horrible secret” on Instagram. Find out what he had to say and how different people are reacting to the post.
Cheyenne Jackson shared his scars
The American Horror Story actor posted a picture of the front and back of his head on Instagram. It revealed that he has a long scar going around his head.
“I’ve been DREADING this day for 17 years,” started the caption. “The day when my horrible secret would be revealed. No, this gnarly scar across my head isn’t from life-saving brain surgery, nor did I narrowly survive a shark attack. It’s worse. (At least in Hollywood…) I had hair transplant surgery. 5 of them, to be exact over 14 years.”
He wrote that posting this during the pandemic might not be the best time but he revealed why he wanted to do it. “I get it, but I’m admitting this really, to RELEASE how much shame & anxiety I’ve had about people finding out for years,” read the post. “I started losing my hair around 22. My older brother was balding too, but was way braver & cooler & just shaved his off. It was really emotional for me to watch it fall out & I felt less attractive & truly less like myself as the days went on, so I saved up and got my first surgery at 28. “
Some fans criticized his timing
Some fans weren’t happy about the timing of his post. “There’s people that are dying queen,” reads one comment.
Other people brought up the pandemic in the comments. “Exactly… THIS SH*T DONT MATTER , it’s sad a pandemic has opened humanity’s eyes to the superficial and ego driven lives we all lead,” read another comment.
Another person added, “Rich people problems.” Those who left nicer comments happened to be other famous people.
Other celebrities showed him support
Tony Award winner, Marissa Jaret Winokur was one of the many celebrities who showed him support in the comments by sharing her own experience. “I wore/wear fake hair since 1994 …When I would go home on a ‘date’ I would take a shower and put it under the sink … and have wet hair … and then sneak back after the ‘date’ and put it back on…..When I say ‘date’ I mean my husband because obviously he’s the only one I ‘dated,'” she wrote.
Kristin Chenoweth wrote “Well this is inspiring. I love you. And that scar.” Elizabeth Berkley also commented with “Love you. And love your truth and journey and all of it. Your kids have a real life superhero… miss you.”
It looks like the post is getting strong reactions from people. Jackson’s friends seem to be nothing but supportive about it.
