Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Generous Baby Gift to a Pregnant Fan Will Melt Your Heart
Former Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines just won over their fans in a huge way when they surprised an expectant mom with a sweet gift. When their littlest one, Crew, recently outgrew his bassinet, Chip shared a too cute photo of the little guy barely contained in the baby bed — and what happened next was a complete surprise.
Baby Crew is getting big
Chip and Joanna Gaines welcomed their fifth child, Crew, 8 months ago and he’s already gotten quite big, as dad captioned the photo: “Uh oh.. what happens when they
What’s a SNOO? The “smart sleeper,” the Happiest Baby website explains, is a “responsive bassinet that boosts sleep for babies” and provides “calming sensations of the womb” for improved sleep. The SNOO costs $1,295. According to the company, a baby can be calmed “often within 1 minute” in the bassinet.
Fans had ideas for the Gaines family
Chip got plenty of responses to his funny Instagram post, with one of his followers joking: “Then it’s time to get another baby!”
Another fan cautioned: “It was a DARK DAY when our little one outgrew the SNOO. Still waiting on them to make child and preferably adult size versions.”
Others believed the couple could donate the bassinet to another family or a hospital and, of course, their were plenty who hoped Chip would send it to them.
One woman, Kelly
Clagget had shared the news of her pregnancy last month on her Instagram, writing: “We have waited for this baby for a very long time. We will welcome our beautiful love into the world in August. I’m just 10 weeks and We are over the moon in love already.”
Chip made a very generous offer
Clearly, Chip was moved by Clagget’s story, as he responded, “We’re so excited for you. Let’s get her set up…” She responded, “WHAT!!!!! Thank you!!!”
While the details get foggy from there, as Clagget was then contacted by Chip’s assistant, it’s apparent that Chip and Joanna were helping the Clagget family out in some way.
Clagget was completely floored by Chip and Joanna’s generosity and shared more of her story, writing: “We have been trying for a baby for several years. We decided not to do fertility treatments and pray, pray, pray. My mom died out of the clear blue and it was emotionally hard to dream that a baby was going to be in our future ever. Then right before Christmas we found out that after so long we were finally pregnant. Everything is going great. It pays to pray!”
Their Magnolia Foundation gives back
Chip and Joanna Gaines have found ways to give back to their community, including the creation of the Magnolia Foundation. According to the website, the purpose of the foundation is to “provide restoration to the most vulnerable children and families, focusing our efforts in four specific areas: orphan care, youth development, family housing, and community restoration.”
