Chris Harrison Addresses Kelley Flanagan’s Claim She Was Locked in a Closet During ‘The Bachelor’
The last season of The Bachelor got backlash for multiple reasons. Fans accused Peter Weber of being indecisive. They also accused producers of creating too much drama.
Kelley Flanagan was quoted saying she was locked in a closet while filming. Chris Harrison is now addressing her claim.
Kelley Flanagan and Peter Weber are hanging out after ‘The Bachelor’
Weber sent home Flanagan earlier in the season. He then proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss, then tried to make things work again with Madison Prewett. Now he’s single and hanging out with Flanagan.
He was spotted with her in Chicago along with Dustin Kendrick, who was also on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. Weber addressed the rumors that they were dating.
“Are we dating? No. Do I love spending time with her? Absolutely,” Weber said on The Viall Files when talking to Nick Viall. “We’re not dating. Could I see that in the future? Yeah, of course. I’d be extremely lucky and very happy if that happened.”
He said that he’s “the last person that needs to rush into any kind of relationship.” The lawyer talked about their conversations about the show.
Flanagan was quoted saying she was locked in a closet
Flanagan talked about her time on the show on the Almost Famous podcast. She said when she reconnected with Weber she revealed how she was kept from him.
“They don’t let me see you. They locked me up in a closet for three hours last week, and they won’t let me see you,” Flanagan said she told him. “You clearly know they push some people forward and they don’t push others forward.”
She also thought the producers somehow turned him against her. “It’s just I saw him, like, things were getting in his head that he wasn’t able to make his own decision and it just kind of pissed me off,” she said.
Chris Harrison denies she was locked up
The host said he was confused by Flanagan’s claim. Harrison said he reached out to her after the rumor went around.
“I said, ‘What was that?'” he told Entertainment Tonight. “‘We don’t lock people in closets, so clearly you weren’t locked in a closet for three hours. What did you mean?'”
He claimed that the lawyer laughed and said she was “taken a little bit out of context.” Harrison then said, “She didn’t even know that she was part of the interview at that point.”
The host said she was frustrated by the situation. “She’s a smart girl who I think is used to getting what she wants, and she didn’t get that time with Peter,” he said.
He explained where the contestants are kept when they do their interviews with producers. “You’re not in a closet. It’s in a room, and sometimes it takes hours,” Harrison said. It depends on what’s going on at the time… I think Kelley was frustrated at the time, and that’s how she articulated that.” He said she apologized to him for the misunderstanding.
