Chris Hemsworth to Play This Famous Trump Supporter Following ‘Avengers: Endgame’
While fans are gearing up to watch Chris Hemsworth wield his mighty hammer once more in Avengers: Endgame, they are also coming to the bitter realization that this may be the last time he takes on the beloved Asgardian.
Chris Hemsworth first portrayed Thor in a 2011 standalone film before the first Avengers movie – featuring the original six heroes – hit the silver screen in 2012. While many fans have come to associate the actor with his iconic Marvel counterpart, his upcoming project is a far step away from the superhero realm. Yet, it’s bound to still be quite the action-oriented spectacle.
Chris Hemsworth will star as Hulk Hogan in an upcoming Netflix biopic
Chris Hemsworth will portray the wrestler who became the face of the WWF and rose to national stardom back in the ‘80s. Known by eight different nicknames, including Mr. America, Hulkamania, Thunder Lips, and more, Hulk Hogan’s real name is Terry Gene Bollea. Since this movie is categorized as a biopic, it’s likely that it will start in Terry’s younger days and trace his journey to fame. Yet, something will be missing towards the end.
Hulk Hogan sued Gawker Media following their release of a sex tape featuring he and Heather Clem. He went on to win the case, as the damage done to his career and financial standings was quite hefty. However, the film is said to exclude this piece of his life in favor of focusing on his wrestling career.
If the movie plans to leave out the lawsuit, which has come to define the wrester’s later years in the limelight, what else will the upcoming Netflix biopic exclude? Will it also fail to mention that the former WWE star is an outspoken Trump advocate?
How we know that Hulk Hogan is a Trump Advocate
Hulk Hogan has been an outspoken Trump advocate since before the President was elected into office. According to CBS News, in reaction to Donald Trump’s win, Hogan tweeted, “Thank you God for the highly favored miracle, thank you for the shift, and thank you for the truth.”
If that’s not enough, Trump even told TMZ, according to CBS News, that he would have been happy to be selected as Trump’s running mate. Can you picture it now? President Trump and Vice President Hulk Hogan (what an interesting pair, to say the least).
So, not only does Hulk Hogan support Trump, he’s such a huge advocate that he wanted to run alongside the presidential candidate! When it comes to supporting someone, you can’t make a grander statement.
Will Chris Hemsworth have to portray Hulk Hogan’s Trump-supporting ways in the Netflix original?
Given how divisive Trump’s presidency is, the movie will likely stray from including the former wrester’s political beliefs, no matter how greatly he publicizes them. However, if the film leaves out the lawsuit and dismisses the fact that the star is a Trump supporter, can it be labeled a true biopic?
The movie should be true to the wrestler’s existence, and, as of now, it seems like it will stray from an honest portrayal in favor of a glamorous representation of the star’s rise to fame. Let’s hope, upon the movie’s release, that those penning the script prove this assumption incorrect.
