It looks like Todd Chrisley may actually need to learn a thing or two. The Chrisley Knows Best star has been indicted by a grand jury for financial crimes. His wife, Julie Chrisley, and former CPA Peter Tarantino were also a part of the 12-count indictment, which included wire fraud, tax evasion, and hiding income from the IRS.

What did Todd have to say to the accusations?

The family is reportedly being investigated for crimes that took place dating all the way back to 2007, including income taxes that were unpaid from 2013-2016.

“They had a production company named 7C Production, which was paid the fees that the TV stations paid for the show. Of course, that was not declared as income in federal tax returns,” BJay Pak, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia told WSBTV.

Once the allegations were made public, Todd took to Instagram to explain the situation.

“I’ve never talked about this publicly before, but there’s been a cloud hanging over Julie and me and our entire family for the past seven years,” he wrote. “It all started back in 2012, when we discovered that a trusted employee of ours had been stealing from us big time.”

He claimed that the employee created several fake documents and forged their signatures.

“He illegally bugged our home,” Todd continued. “Needless to say, we fired the guy and took him to court — and that’s when the real trouble started. To get revenge, he took a bunch of his phony documents to the U.S. Attorney’s office and told them we had committed all kinds of financial crimes, like tax evasion and bank fraud. That got their attention all right, but once we had a chance to explain who he was and what he’d done to us, they realized it was all a bunch of nonsense and they sent him on his way.”

But the employee didn’t give up and, according to Todd, is the root cause of this current investigation.

“I’m telling you all this now because we have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of,” he said. “Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that proves it.”

What is Todd’s daughter Lindsie accusing him of?

The tax evasion charges aren’t all that Todd has to worry about. According to a police report, obtained by TMZ, his daughter Lindsie accused him and his son Chase of harassing and threatening her over a sex tape.

According to the report, Todd and Chase “wanted her to lie about an incident and if she refused to do so, they were going to release the sex tape involving her.”

What does Todd have to say to Lindsie’s allegations?

Chase has vehemently denied the allegations that Lindsie has made.

“I love my sister and I don’t understand why she’s doing this to our family,” he said in a statement to People. “Not only am I heartbroken over these false allegations by my sister — and they are totally false — but so are my parents and the rest of our family.”

Todd also denied her claims.

“It’s heartbreaking and shameful that these kinds of accusations have to be aired in public,” he said. “We have tried to keep Lindsie’s extramarital relationships with Robby Hayes and Josh Murray private for her sake since August of 2016.”

“Sadly, for reasons we can only guess at, she ran to the sheriff’s office to accuse her brother of buying a sex tape of her and Robby, which was a complete lie, and now she’s telling more lies about me,” the statement continued. “Although our hearts are broken, Lindsie is our daughter and we will always love her.”
