Teigen is heavily active on social media and is known for her brutal honesty and hilarious posts. Fans are especially tickled by her ongoing habit of using her accounts to roast her famous and universally adored husband, John Legend.

As if that’s not endearing enough, the pair also have two adorable children (Luna and Miles) who make appearances in her social media feed from time to time.

Aside from sharing glimpses of her beautiful family, Teigen is also well-liked for her down-to-earth quality. In a time when many celebrities share an airbrushed and perfectly curated version of their lives, many see Teigen’s authenticity as refreshing and approachable.

Whether she is sharing funny moments about the realities of parenting or lightly making fun of herself, Teigen has used her wit to grow a huge social media fanbase.

Chrissy Teigen is also known for her biting responses to others

While Teigen often uses her social media accounts to poke a little fun at herself, she is also quick to turn it around whenever she gets hate from others. Overall, her image is of someone who knows how to take a joke but also knows how to stand up for herself and set boundaries.

By the end of most insults or arguments, she’s left looking hilarious and poised while the bully is left in the dust. Perhaps her ability to balance being such a stunning celebrity with also being relatable has to do with her past.

Before she became famous, Teigen struggled through low-paying jobs and family issues. She is also quick to recognize that the perks she gets for being a celebrity are sometimes unfair and unearned. For instance, she recognizes that people are kind to her when she gets on a plane with her kids while they might be mean to everyday parents doing the same thing.

Chrissy Teigen tells the truth about award shows

With all of this social media history behind her, Teigen’s Twitter Q & A was bound to offer up some gems. When one fan asked her about the reality of award shows, she was quick to lay out the facts.

She says that she feels “pulled in 100 directions” and that she’s always being “yelled at to sit down.” She also lamented the fact that the bar is always far away from wherever she is seated.

Finally, she turned her attention to the non-celebrities who attend the shows as seat fillers: “everyone is so mean to seat fillers, I dunno why anyone wants to do it.”

This last comment got some attention in the thread with some commenters sharing their past experiences as seat fillers.

Whether it’s worth it or not to be a seat filler remains up for debate, but Teigen’s signature honesty has given fans a glimpse into just how stressful and rigid awards show attendance can be for the celebrities who make us all tune in. It seems like Teigen is most comfortable in the relaxed atmosphere of her own home where she can continue to delight (and sometimes berate) her social media followers.
