Is Clare Crawley Engaged? The Bachelorette Confirms the Ring on Her Wedding Finger — But It’s Not What You Think

The Bachelorette fans smelled an engagement the moment Clare Crawley was announced as the lead. The 39-year-old appeared on The Bachelor franchise four times, and she never shied away from her quest to find true love. Now, has the dream become a reality? Just a week after her season premiere, Crawley was spotted wearing a wedding ring. But the Sacramento hairdresser quickly addressed the rumors and told her Instagram followers it’s not quite what it seems.

On Oct. 19, Page Six published photos of Crawley seemingly wearing an engagement ring on her wedding finger. But when word got back to Crawley, she addressed the rumors on her Instagram.

“Oh my gosh. Rumor has it that I’ve been spotted around town wearing a ring on my wedding ring finger. So I wanted to come on here and confirm that I have,” Crawley said on Instagram Story, raising her hand to display the diamond ring. “This ring is actually a ring I got for myself. I’ve worn it for a while now.”

She also shared the special meaning behind the jewelry piece, noting it was a reminder to put herself first.

“People have noticed I wear this ring on my wedding finger, and have asked why! The truth is because it is a commitment to myself first and foremost, to embody self-love,” Crawley wrote in a separate Instagram post. “In the past I found myself getting into relationships where there was little to no reciprocity, and in the end would feel depleted and empty.”

She continued, “This is my promise to myself, to make sure I always had enough self love that no matter what happened, I was committed to loving myself unconditionally, and that is something no man could take away from me.”

Of course, some Bachelor Nation fans won’t be surprised by Crawley’s comments. Before filming her season in June, the reigning bachelorette went on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and opened up about her ring to Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin.

Crawley confirmed she didn’t wear an engagement ring, but rather, a symbol of self-love. She also pointed out that she would “never ask anything of a man that I can’t get for myself.”

While Crawley currently wears her own ring on her wedding finger, The Bachelorette fans are still wondering whether the hairdresser received her happy ending. The season wrapped filming a while ago. So it seems likely Crawley’s journey on the show has come to an end, which means an engagement for the reality star could be on its way.

Meanwhile, multiple publications revealed Crawley was replaced by Tayshia Adams as The Bachelorette Season 16 lead after falling in love with one of her contestants.

“The producers have told her that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors,” an insider told E! News on Aug. 3. “Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead.”

Life & Style Magazine also reported that Crawley got engaged to Dale Moss, the frontrunner from The Bachelorette premiere. As you may remember, Crawley felt like she “just met her husband” after her first interaction with the contestant. He also won her first impression rose.

Nevertheless, fans will have to wait and see how Crawley’s journey unfolds as The Bachelorette Season 16 continues. The franchise has yet to address the alleged switch-up or engagement. Host Chris Harrison also insists Bachelor Nation won’t see what’s coming next.

“There are a lot of rumors flying around,” Harrison said while introducing Crawley’s cast in September. “I just want to say right now… you may think you know everything. But you don’t. It’s a season you have to see to believe.”

But whatever happens, it appears Crawley is in a good place now.

“My happiness is not contingent on a relationship or a man at all,” Crawley told ABC4 News on Oct. 19. “My happiness comes from within and my happiness has been a long time job that I’ve been working on for a while. … I was happy going into this, and I’m happy now.”
