Clare Crawley’s Quarantined ‘Bachelorette’ Season May Help Her Find True Love Easier Than Past Leads–Here’s How

Just before Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor ended, Clare Crawley was announced to be the next bachelorette. It’s not unusual for the bachelorette to be chosen from the current bachelor’s pool but, as Bachelor Nation is sure to remember, Weber’s cast wasn’t considered terribly likable. They were often criticized for acting immature. The season’s age average certainly did skew younger. So casting 39-year-old Crawley in the lead role seems like a bit of a course correction after a lot of passionate Bachelor Nation feedback.

Clare Crawley’s ‘Bachelorette’ season is currently filming after being on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic

Just days after Weber’s season finale, the coronavirus (COVID-29) pandemic hit the United States. So Crawley’s season was put on hold.

“Well hello! Talk about most dramatic season ever! In all seriousness, Everyone’s health is the most important priority at this time, and as I’m sure you’ve heard, we are pressing pause for now on filming The Bachelorette. We are taking it day by day and even hour by hour as this is so unpredictable. All I know for sure is that my heart is so full from all the love and support this far, and am still so excited for my journey to begin! I’ve waited 38 years for these moments, what’s a little bit longer, right!” Crawley wrote on Instagram on March 13.

Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette is officially back on. The ABC recently began filming at La Quinta Resort & Club in California, where the entire season will take place. Additional safety precautions include the crew wearing masks, regular testing, and no one leaving the resort throughout the duration of the season.

Why Clare Crawley might have better luck finding true love during her quarantined ‘Bachelorette’ season

This season of The Bachelorette is going to feel a little different. But those differences could help Crawley find true love.

First of all, Crawley and her contestants won’t be leaving the resort. While it’s a nice place, contestants will be focusing more on their connection with Crawley than traveling and flashy dates. During normal Bachelor/ette seasons, there’s a lot going on. It’s not unusual to feel as though the focus is being pulled from the task of building a lasting relationship. Crawley’s season won’t have that issue.

Additionally, the bachelor has already been chosen–none other than Tyler Cameron’s best buddy, Matt James. It’s no secret that sometimes contestants go on The Bachelorette with the aspiration of becoming the bachelor. Since the bachelor has already been chosen, hopefully, there’ll be fewer ulterior motives. Sure, the men can still participate with the intention of becoming Instagram famous, but maybe the age increase will help with that. Many of Crawley’s contestants are coming on the show with established careers.

Crawley has been waiting patiently for her shot at love. Perhaps these unique circumstances will help her form a better connection than she would have were she the bachelorette during a “regular” season.
