Colin Macy-O’Toole from ‘Below Deck Med’ May Be Bravo’s Most Eligible Bachelor
Although Bravo has a number of attractive eligible bachelors, Colin Macy-O’Toole from Below Deck Mediterranean may be the network’s “ultimate” catch.
The deckhand who is quick with the quip and has a song in his heart has easily become one of the most sought-after bachelors on TV. A social media scan proves that women are hoping to score a date with Macy-O’Toole. When Bravo announced BravoCon, one fan tweeted, “Boyfriend just sent me a link and said ‘looks like you’ll be in New York for one weekend in November’ oh yes bitch you better pray I come back and don’t run off with @ColinMacyOToole…”
A smattering of Bravo moms are even jockeying to marry their daughters off to the 31-year-old.
“I get a lot of moms who direct message me on social media,” Macy-O’Toole laughs. He shared with Showbiz Cheat Sheet that he recently received a message from a mom who wanted only the best for her daughter, which meant hoping to connect her with him. “I get a lot of moms,” he adds. “They always say, ‘I never do this, don’t tell my daughter.'”
Macy-O’Toole says he’s beyond flattered and taken aback by all the love. And he is, indeed, looking for someone he can share his life with too. But what does Bravo’s most eligible bachelor want in a “first mate?”
He doesn’t really have a type but…
Macy-O’Toole is really looking for someone who fun-loving and genuine. So he said he can’t really nail down a specific type. “I want someone outgoing and funny,” he shares. “Someone who likes to go out, but also stays in once in a while.”
He adds his “type” is more about the person and not any particular physical features. “Not to sound corny, but I don’t really care about that stuff,” he remarks. But he adds he leans toward dating more musical and creative people.
Even though he’s not limited geographically, Macy-O’Toole confirms moving away from his home-base would be a struggle. “With Brooke last season on the show, telling her I liked her, but in the back of my head, I thought, she lives in England,” he said. “I live on Long Island, would we even make this work? I’m so close to my friends and family. You would absolutely have to be ‘the one’ for me to do that [move away].” Even so, he’d still need a lot of persuading he adds.
Prepare to enjoy the love of his family
Macy-O’Toole says if he met the right person, maybe he could persuade her to move to Long Island. Not only is the Below Deck Med deckhand beloved by viewers, but his parents are also Bravo fan favorites. Robin Macy and Bob O’Toole made a guest appearance last season and now fans can’t get enough of the sweet and friendly couple.
So what could someone expect if she’s brought home to meet Macy-O’Toole’s parents? “I turn invisible when I bring a girl home and introduce them to my family,” he jokes. “I basically fall off the earth.”
He says his grandmother took one of his girlfriends to the mall while Macy-O’Toole was at work and bought her a bunch of clothes. Being a teacher, Macy-O’Toole’s mom wants to know everything about her son’s girlfriends. “I’m just sitting in the corner drinking my beer,” Macy-O’Toole jokes. “I could leave right now and no one would know.” He adds since his mom and two aunts are the only women of the family, they are eager to meet Macy-Toole’s girlfriends.
This would be his ‘ultimate’ celebrity crush
Showbiz Cheat Sheet asked Macy-O’Toole to narrow down who would be his “ultimate” celebrity match. He really struggled to pick just one star who would fit the total package but eventually, he revealed one person who would fit the bill.
“I’ve talked about this with my friends and they always have answers. I didn’t have an answer to this one,” he said as he pondered the question. “Mine would be Margot Robbie. I think she’s beautiful, she’s well spoken. She’d be fun to go out with too.”
While he can’t reveal if he finds love this season, Macy-O’Toole says he is dating right now. But adds he’s happy just chilling on his own too. “I just keep trying and hopefully I find someone who really gets me,” he says.
Tune in Monday, June 3 for the season premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean, 9/8c.
