Colton Underwood Thinks Hannah Brown Is ‘A Completely Different Person’ After Her Time On ‘The Bachelorette’

Colton Underwood has defended Hannah Brown from the moment she was chosen to be The Bachelorette. When Brown was first cast, there were a ton of naysayers who thought her season would be rough to get through. But Underwood knew from the beginning what Brown was capable of, as long as she stayed true to herself.

“I think it’s gonna be a fantastic season. She’s unapologetically herself, she has no filter and that makes for good TV and falling in love,” Underwood told Mila Kunis when asked about Brown’s upcoming season on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

When Brown’s season was airing and she’d receive criticism here and there (mostly about keeping controversial contestant Luke Parker for so long), Underwood would continue to go bat for his former Bachelor contestant.

“I feel like there are so many people that are so quick to judge and so many people who want to state their opinion, which is great, and I value people’s opinions when I see it, but unless you’ve been through what we’ve been through, and we share such a unique experience and bond, you can’t really open your mouth or judge somebody,” he told HollywoodLife in the midst of Brown’s season.

Colton Underwood thinks Hannah Brown gained ‘so much’ during her time on ‘The Bachelorette’

Though Brown didn’t leave The Bachelorette with a romantic partner, Underwood feels she gained so much more.

“For Hannah, I feel like she’s won so much in this last year, even though she came out single. She’s still a winner. She’s grown so much,” he said. “I’m so proud of her, from the very first date that she had with me to where she’s at now, I see a completely different person.”

Bachelor fans will remember how painfully awkward Brown was on her first date with Underwood. She was asked to make a toast but couldn’t deliver because she was so plagued with anxiety.

As the season went on, Brown loosened up. But on her season of The Bachelorette, she really came into her own. It’s no surprise Underwood says he sees a completely different person in front of him when he looks at Brown today.

Burnett is on the current season of Bachelor In Paradise, where she came out as bisexual. As of the most recent episode, the woman Burnett was dating in Los Angeles prior to filming has joined the cast of Paradise.

“To feel as comfortable as she did to come out, and for her to take those steps, I don’t think she realizes not only what she did for herself, but all of the women and the guys to comfort her. That’s huge,” he said.
