Could One of the Duggars Ever Get Their Own TV Show?

The Duggars have been favorites in the reality TV sphere for years, and for good reason. It all began with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, two ultra-conservative Christians who wanted to share their experience raising 19 children with the world. Thanks to multiple shows like 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, we’ve watched many of the Duggar kids grow up and navigate adulthood. Now, many individual members of the family have developed quite an extensive following of their own.

Thanks to social media and individual blogs, certain Duggar family members, like Jessa, Jill, Jinger, and Jana, have a bigger following than any of the others. Could any of these ladies — or any other Duggar, for that matter — ever get their own show? Here’s what we think.

Counting On originally seemed to focus on Jill and Jessa

Most fans of the Duggars remember the family first on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting. After the Josh Duggar scandal broke, however, the series ended — though we know now that the family’s TV legacy was from over. TLC created Counting On as a spin-off of 19 Kids and Counting, though this time, the focus was way more on the older Duggar children than the entire huge family. And we can’t forget that when it first began, it was formerly known as Jill & Jessa: Counting On, as early episodes made these two leading ladies the main focus.

So far, this is the closest we’ve seen to any of the Duggars having their own spin-off series, though the Jill & Jessa part of the show didn’t hold. Thanks to Jill’s controversial husband, Derick Dillard, she no longer appears on the show at all. And instead of the main focus being on Jessa, viewers are getting plenty of footage from many of the other family members, too. This format seems to work well for both the Duggars and the fans, so it’s unlikely we’ll ever see the show just focus on Jessa in the future as well.

There’s been past talk that Jinger may star in her own show

Jinger Duggar has gained quite a fan base over the years, as many are quite invested in her life with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo. The 25-year-old mom has always struck us as different than her siblings, as she moved far away from the other Duggars and has seemingly always been a bit more progressive. The Hollywood Gossip notes there’ve been rumors in the past that Jinger could even get her own TV series due to her popularity.

Could it ever happen? Perhaps so — but it seems the rumors are just rumors at this point and there are no formal plans for Jinger to have her own spin-off. Fans were particularly interested in Jinger starring in her own show when they discovered she was moving out of Arkansas and possibly to Los Angeles for Jeremy’s schooling. The two currently reside in Texas, however — but a huge move out west could be the perfect catalyst for a new series.

A show featuring Jana would definitely please fans

While a spin-off for Jinger makes perfect sense, it seems fans would also most likely love a series just for Jana. The 29-year-old Duggar sister is most known as being the “Cinderella” of the family, as she’s currently single and still residing under Jim Bob and Michelle’s roof. Jana appears soft-spoken, kind, and helpful to her whole family, and for that reason, fans would agree that she’s totally deserving of having her own series.

As for what kind of series Jana should have, fans have noted they’d adore if the Duggar daughter could find love on TV. In Touch Weekly notes some have even said they’d love to see Jana as the next star of The Bachelorette. We doubt she’d ever be up for such a task, but perhaps if there was a Christian fundamentalist-friendly version of the show, she’d take the opportunity to find love on national television.
