Could Working at SUR Now Be Awkward for Ariana Madix From ‘Vanderpump Rules?’

Ariana Madix from Vanderpump Rules received both applause and a bit of shade for standing up for how Tom Sandoval was treated in his partnership with Lisa Vanderpump.

During the season finale, Madix spoke with Vanderpump about how both Sandoval and partner Tom Schwartz were treated, painting “the Toms” in a light that made them look inept.

But after Vanderpump told Madix to “lighten up” because she was only joking, Madix revealed she felt like it was pointless to even broach the subject with Vanderpump. Now that the cat is out of the bag, how did Vanderpump respond? And how could her response make Madix’s work life a little uncomfortable going forward?

Treated like minions

After Madix tried to make her point she realized her efforts were probably fruitless. She freely shared her opinion during the Vanderpump Rules After Show. “Literally as the words were coming out of my mouth, I realized that it was a completely pointless endeavor,” she recounted according to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “She’ll never take what I’m saying seriously; I’ll always be her minion.”

She wondered why she even tried. “What is the point? All I’m going to do is make her mad. She’ll get vindictive; she’ll try to get back at me for having this opinion and these concerns, so, you know what, screw it. I’ll just go back to my f–king corner and stay out of it and live my life.”

During the After Show episode, other cast members agreed.  “Nobody wants to be treated the way Lisa treats me,” Kristen Doute, who was fired from SUR said… “So that is why everyone just…[she trails off].” Madix added it is probably impossible to have a difference of opinion with Vanderpump. “She can do no wrong in anyone’s eyes and so it’s really hard to have a difference of opinion with her,” she says.

This Vanderpump partner lashed out at Madix

Although Dr. John Sessa does not work at SUR he felt the need to add his two cents to Madix’s comments.  “How disrespectful and disloyal @ariana2525 to @LisaVanderpump – someone who has given you a job for eight years and countless opportunities,” the Vanderpump Dogs partner tweeted. “Enjoy your new $2M home.”

Madix was quick to respond and was taken aback since she’s been on good terms with Sessa.  “Ok, John. We’ve been friends for years and have had plenty of deep conversations about this stuff. You tweeting this little prepared paragraph instead of just texting me is very telling.”

Vanderpump’s response may make work a little weird

Vanderpump finally responded to Madix’s comments. She addressed the way she treated Schwartz and Sandoval during the reunion. But then shared her feelings about the “minions” comment with US Weekly.

“In the after show when she said, ‘I’ll just be your f—-king minion,’ … I don’t look at any of my staff like [a] minion,” Vanderpump said. “It’s very sad because I really value my staff and I think that shows in the show for seven years and I’ve had many, many staff working for me many years.”

But Vanderpump added, “If anyone feels like that they shouldn’t be working for me. Many of my staff have worked for me for five or 10 years, so it’s hard to hear.”
