‘Counting On’: All Eyes Turn Toward Anna Duggar as her Due Date Nears

All eyes are turned towards Anna Duggar as she nears her due date. The wife of Joshua Duggar, Anna has had anything but a fairytale marriage. Even still, she trudges on, now expecting her sixth child with the eldest Duggar boy. She is the last Duggar family member due with a baby this year, but it looks like her birthing experience will differ substantially from her two sisters-in-law, Kendra Caldwell and Lauren Swanson, both of whom recently welcomed baby girls.

Anna seems to prefer home births

Both Kendra and Lauren opted to have their children in a hospital setting. Kendra, who gave birth to Addison Renee on Nov. 2, opted for her second hospital birth. The 21-year-old surprised fans last year when she made the decision to avoid a home birth with her first child. Garret, who is named after Michelle Duggar’s father, was born in 2018.

Lauren Swanson, who married Josiah Duggar in 2018, welcomed a baby girl on Nov. 8. She too opted to labor at a hospital instead of at home. Josiah and Lauren suffered a loss last year when Lauren miscarried their first child. The new addition, Bella Milagro, arrived safely after what the couple described as a difficult pregnancy.

Anna, who has had five children before her most recent pregnancy, is likely to opt for a home birth. She’s chosen to labor and deliver each of her children outside of a hospital setting, and that doesn’t seem to be changing. Anna and Josh’s first and second children were born in the couple’s Arkansas home. Their third child, a boy named Marcus, was born at a birthing center, according to Inquistr. Little is known about the birth of the couple’s fourth child, as baby Meredith arrived just weeks after Josh’s molestation scandal broke. Their fifth child, Mason, was seemingly born a home, as well. The sneak peek photos that the couple shared in 2017, appear to show Josh holding the newborn in the family’s living room.

When is Anna Duggar due?

Anna’s due date is a bit of a mystery, but she did give some insight into when fans can expect to meet the family’s newest addition. She noted that she was due after both Kendra and Lauren and that all three were due in the month of November. Since Kendra and Lauren have both welcomed their daughters, Anna is the next in line.

Anna and Josh announced their pregnancy towards the end of April 2019. If she were two to three months along, that would put her due date towards the end of November. That means the baby watch is officially on for the couple and their fans. The name of their child has not yet been revealed, but everyone knows the newest girl’s name will start with an M.

Will Anna’s birth be televised?

Anna has happily invited cameras to document the birth of several of her children. The couple’s first three children’s births were shown on 19 Kids and Counting. They were set to allow cameras to follow the birth of their fourth child when Josh’s scandals broke. The special was never aired. Cameras also didn’t capture the birth of the couple’s fifth child either, because, at that point, Josh has been ousted from the reality TV world.

The most recent season of Counting On, however, has been slowly reintroducing some family members who were kept off-camera. Both Jim Bob and Michelle seem to be making more appearances on the show and have even had an entire episode dedicated to their babysitting tactics. The reintroduction of Jim Bob and Michelle have left some fans wondering if Anna’s birth will also be filmed. At this point, it doesn’t look like it. While fans may be seeing more of Michelle, Jim Bob, and even Anna, Josh remains a persona non grata.
