‘Counting On’: Did Jessa Duggar Reveal That Baby No. 3 Is A Girl?

Counting On stars Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are just days away from welcoming their third child, and that was abundantly clear in Duggar’s latest Instagram post. The 26-year-old recently shared a short video clip of her belly, and fans can easily see baby Seewald kicking and rolling around inside mommy’s tummy. As we get closer to Duggar’s due date, fans want to know – is she having a boy or a girl?

Ben and Jessa know the baby’s gender

While Counting On fans can see baby Seewald rolling around inside Jessa Duggar’s very pregnant tummy, her 3-year-old son Spurgeon was nearby to give his mom’s belly a kiss while 2-year-old Henry played his toys. In the video’s caption, Jessa wrote that it looked like baby number three was responding to Spurgeon’s kisses.

“Watching Spurgeon anticipate the arrival of his new sibling has got to be one of the sweetest parts of this pregnancy. Henry will pat my belly sometimes and say ‘Baby!’ because he sees us do that, but I don’t think he truly comprehends what’s about to take place,” wrote Jessa.

Fans immediately started to comment on the video, with everyone wanting to know if the couple was having a boy or a girl. Jessa responded by explaining that she and her husband always find out their baby’s gender, but they keep it a secret so they can surprise the family when the baby arrives.

When a fan asked if Spurgeon and Henry knew the top secret info, Jessa said that she and Ben didn’t tell them because if they did, it “wouldn’t stay a secret very long.”

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are about to be outnumbered

While the couple is excited for the arrival of their third child, they do acknowledge that life is about to get a little more complicated. Ben pointed out that going from two to three kids means they would have to switch from man-to-man to zone coverage, and they would definitely be looking to family and friends for advice.

The Duggar boys are taking over

Jessa and Ben announced they were expecting their third child back in January, and the couple told People Magazine at the time that from the moment they found out they were pregnant, they both thought they were having a boy.

The couple added that if they were right, they already had the right clothes and accessories. If the reality stars were wrong and ended up having a girl, they would love that, too, but they would be starting from square one and had some things to learn.

Jessa’s parents – Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar – currently have 12 grandchildren (with more on the way), and only three of them are girls. Jessa, Jill, Joy-Anna, and Joseph have only sons, while Josh has two daughters and three sons, and Jinger is the mom of baby Felicity.

If Jessa Duggar is having a girl, that would be a rare event in the Duggar family.

Jessa and Ben started the 2019 Duggar babyfest

After the Counting On stars shared their baby news at the beginning of the year, there were a couple of quiet months that didn’t feature any Duggar pregnancy announcements. But, that all changed in April.

Joseph and his wife Kendra Caldwell, Josh and his wife Anna, and Joy-Anna and her husband Austin all announced pregnancies within days of each other. And, on Easter Sunday, Cousin Amy – who fans will remember from 19 Kids & Counting – announced she was expecting her first child with husband, Dillon King.

A picture full of baby bumps

Not long after all of the Duggar baby announcements, Jessa, Kendra, and Anna were part of a Mother/Daughter panel at the Family Conferences along with mom Michelle, sister-in-law Lauren, and big sister Jana.

The ladies all stood together for a picture, and in true Duggar style, the three expectant moms were each showing off their baby bumps.
