‘Counting On’: Fans Are Slamming Jill Duggar for Her ‘Filthy House’ After This Instagram Photo

The Duggars have been on our TV screens for over a decade, and it’s hard to believe Jim Bob and Michelle’s kids who started on the show as teens are now grown adults. Thanks to TLC’s Counting On, we still get to keep up with many of the family members, too — though not everyone is featured. We can’t forget that the soft-spoken, sweet Jill Duggar is no longer allowed to be on the show thanks to the hateful tweets her husband, Derick Dillard, produced.

Despite Jill being out of the TV spotlight, fans still love to hear about her marriage, her two sons, and what she’s up to nowadays on Instagram. And she recently may have gotten a little too honest about what her messy house looks like with this Instagram photo.

Jill Duggar recently posted a photo of her messy kitchen floor to Instagram

Jill’s known for being candid with her followers, and though she’s often criticized for her parenting techniques and relationship with Derick, she continues to post to Instagram almost daily. Most recently, she offered insight into what her house looks like — and it’s messier than some may expect. She added a photo of her kitchen floor littered with crumbs (as well as her toddler’s feet) and added the caption, “‘You know you’ve got a toddler in the house when…’ 👶🏻…when your floor looks like this!”

Her followers played a game of adding on to her captioned phrase in the comments section below the photo, as many could relate to what life’s like with two kids. Jill has a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, and many have speculated that she’s planning on having even more, too — though The Hollywood Gossip posits that Jill may be incapable of having more children. We can’t forget that Jill had an incredibly difficult time with the birth of both of her sons, and she had to have two C-sections.

Many fans thought the post was funny — but some had negative comments to make

While many criticize the Dillard household, there’s no doubt Jill has plenty of followers who love her posts. And many other busy moms took to her Instagram photo to share their experiences having toddlers as well. Unfortunately, not everyone’s happy with what Jill’s posting. Some moms were quick to judge Jill’s trash-littered floor and don’t understand why she would bother posting such content that showed her messy home.

“I will never understand why young moms are showing off & proud of a filthy house. You wonder why you had mice before? Things like this. It’s just not something to show off or act pleased with. It’s disgusting & shows a lack of self respect [sic],” one of her followers commented on the post. “I will never understand why living in a pig sty is something to show off & want people to praise [sic].”

Another one of her followers commented something even worse — and it was about Jill “snapping” and “screaming” at her children for making a mess. “I can only imagine how much Jill snapped and screamed at poor Samuel Every time he threw something on the floor. In videos she took of him doing this same thing, she screamed at him and he didn’t even talk at the time … [sic],” the follower commented.

Jill’s not the only Duggar who shares her messy home with her followers

This is real life, y'all. ❤ *swipe left to see more pics of my house today in all its shining glory* 1.) 6+ loads of laundry piled on the guest bed… can we just take a moment to celebrate the fact that it's CLEAN laundry. 2.) Side table that probably hasn't been dusted in at least 6 months. 3.) Henry's dried spit up on my side of the bed, that I've slept on for who knows how many nights. 4.) Handprints on the mirror, and Spurgeon's beautiful artwork that happened when he found a pen that was left out. 5.) Pile of diapers on the top of my dresser… pretty sure these all collected in the past 12 hours. 6.) Blocks scattered again, not bc Spurgeon was building with them… just bc it's like his favorite thing to dump them out and hear them clang on the hardwood floors. Haha! 7.) Sink full of dishes. 8.) Oil splatters and food particles on the stovetop. Probably has been a few months since it's been wiped down. 9.) Toddler handprint on the fridge door. 10.) Dust collection on the front of the HVAC intake…ha! But hey, at least we're replacing the filter every month! There's a never ending to-do list. Some of these tasks have been accomplished today, others haven't. (We have guest staying with us over the weekend, so that's a motivation to prioritize the laundry on the guest bed. ) Some of y'all may be thinking, "C'mon now, it only takes a few min to dust or wipe down a mirror…" I know, it is so. My reminder today has been that the same is true of the needs of the little people in our lives. I might think "I don't have time right now." But it only takes a few min… here and there. A few mins here, spent cuddling a fussy baby. A few mins there, singing lullabies as a toddler drifts off to sleep. 5 mins here, to read a book. 10 min there, engaging in imaginative play. Not trying to pit a clean house against interaction with kids– sometimes both are possible, tho often they do seem in opposition to one another . Just remember, whatever projects are pulling at your time and attention today, don't forget to make time for the people around you. These are the memories that will last forever.

Jill’s not the only member of the family who’s shared her messy home with the world before. In Touch Weekly reminds us Jessa has also shared candid photos of what life’s like living with toddlers as well. Jessa has shown images of dirty diapers thrown about her home as well as a sink full of dirty dishes. Not only that, but there seemed to also be a vomit stain in her and her husband’s bed. Yikes.

Fans were quick to call out Jessa for her messy home in the past, so she didn’t get away with these photos unscathed, either. After she posted this “real life” photo of her mess to the ‘gram, a follower was quick to point out, “I get it having littles and keeping up with everything is hard, but I’m a single mom, work full time and mom full , and I don’t have this mess issue lol [sic].” Another added, “Ummmm all that dust is unhealthy, and those dirty diapers? Never in a million years, not cleaning the stove for months!? Fire hazards!”
