‘Counting On’ Fans Are Slamming Jill Duggar Yet Again for Allegedly Endangering Her Child
Thanks to TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, fans of the Duggar family have gotten the chance to watch them grow for over a decade. And a lot has changed since the beginning. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were initially in the spotlight for having so many children and passing on their antiquated values to them, but now it’s their adult children who are taking center stage.
Jill Duggar is no longer a part of Counting On (she can thank her controversial husband, Derick Dillard, for that), but she still has quite a following on social media. And recently, fans got angry after she posted a photo of her son to Instagram.
Jill Duggar’s parenting is constantly called into question
The Duggars are no strangers to criticism, so Jill probably expects as much when she posts about her two sons to Instagram. Recently, her son, Israel, turned 4. And while many fans were happy to see Israel having so much fun with the other Duggars, many criticized Jill for seemingly not including Derick in on the festivities. Not only that, but others critiqued Jill for allowing her son to receive a Razor scooter as a gift when they’re meant for kids over 5 years old.
That’s far from the first time Jill’s followers took to Instagram to critique her parenting, too. Jill once posted about getting her son a new toothbrush as a reward for accomplishing school work, and fans were outraged. “I bite my tongue a lot about the ridiculous things you post, but this is too much. A reward is a special treat, stickers, a small toy, a special outing. Children should not be ‘earning’ toothbrushes and toothpaste,” one fan commented. And others showed concern for her kids’ dental hygiene, as they discussed how her children’s teeth look dark and unhealthy.
She posted a photo of her son to Instagram, and fans are attacking
Jill loves sharing photos and stories of her kids on Instagram, but not everyone’s happy with her content. Recently, she posted a photo of her son, Samuel, eating a corndog in the car. “Made a quick trip to @sonicdrivein for a little #familytimeout #sickkids. Sam loved his corndog #happybaby,” she captioned the photo.
Samuel definitely looks like a happy kid, but fans were quick to criticize Jill for how her child’s car seat was situated. As one of her followers commented, “He still looks pretty small, so if he hasn’t maxed the limits it’s safer to be rear facing. Also, unless those strap covers came with his seat, as cute as they are, unfortunately aren’t safe because they can turn the straps into a conveyor belt in the event of impact.” Another commented on the importance of pointing out car safety with, “Car seat safety is not a parenting preference. It is life or death. The way the child is strapped into the seat is not correct.”
Will Jill call out her followers for their negativity?
Jill continues to post on her Instagram despite the continued critique and negativity, and many of her fans have commended her for doing so. As one of her followers commented on her photo of Samuel, “So glad Jill keeps sharing even with constant nagging negative comments!!” And while Jill usually keeps to herself and allows her followers to converse amongst themselves without her interference, she’ll occasionally add her own opinions on Instagram in response.
We can’t forget when she clapped back at her followers in the past for criticizing her when she killed a bee. She posted this photo of dead wasps, and when her fans were quick to judge, Jill had her own comments to add. “Y’all, seriously?! If it’s in my home it’s trespassing. And I got stung by a bee once on my foot and was on crutches for 3 days! Literally had to crawl everywhere! No joke! … I’m not anti-bee, just don’t like them close to me!” she wrote. While we haven’t seen her get this vocal on her post of Samuel, we wouldn’t be too surprised if she makes a move to defend herself.
