‘Counting On’ Fans Are Wondering Why Jill Duggar Won’t Play With Her Kids in the Pool
New episodes of Counting On are coming this fall — but there’s one Duggar family we won’t expect to see on the show. While Jessa, Jana, and Jinger will all make appearances, fan-favorite Jill Duggar is unlikely to be invited back on due to her husband’s controversial Twitter posts of the past. And nowadays, Jill and Derick Dillard share their lives with their many followers since they’re not on TV.
Despite missing from Counting On, there’s no doubt fans are still interested in what the Dillard family is up to. And many of Jill’s followers are constantly questioning her parenting choices. Recently, the Duggar posted a photo of her kids playing in a pool — and fans questioned why she wasn’t in there playing with them. Here’s what they had to say.
Jill Duggar posts about her family and kids on Instagram frequently
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard may no longer have a future with TLC, but they still put their lives on social media for all to see. And Jill is constantly scrutinized for her parenting due to what she posts online regarding her two sons. From her kids’ health to what recipes she’s cooking up next, Jill certainly has trouble escaping criticism. And since Jill and her husband are so open with their personal lives, their posts regarding intimacy and their marriage are also openly critiqued.
Recently, Jill posted a few photos of her sons — and fans were disturbed by how her oldest son, Israel, seemed to have some dental hygiene issues. Not only that, but Jill also recently posted about purchasing shoes for her sons from a consignment shop, and fans were also begging her to gift them with new shoes since she can likely afford it. And her followers were also alarmed when Jill added a scary video to her Instagram Story of her son crying in the car after one of their vehicle windows wouldn’t close.
She recently posted about her children swimming
Despite all of the negative commentary, Jill is rarely deterred from posting about her two young boys. And recently, she added a photo set to her Instagram of her sons swimming. “Lovin’ some pool time,” she captioned her post. And it’s not every day that we see any of the Duggars swimming, either, as their strict dress code rules they grew up prevented the women of the family from wearing traditional swimsuits.
“We typically don’t go to the beach in the summertime. And in general we don’t do a lot of swimming events where swimming suits are worn because it’s just too hard for the guys to try to keep their eyes averted in those situations,” Michelle Duggar told TLC. Michelle also added that when her children did want to swim, they’d opt to use their friends’ private pools instead of public swimming pools, as there are fewer chances of being seen by outsiders there. “And in those situations the kids are always wearing modest clothes,” Michelle went on to explain.
Her followers are wondering why she’s not a part of the fun
In Jill’s post, she didn’t mention that she rarely swam growing up — but fans did seem to notice that she wasn’t in the pool herself. “So your husband has to supervise and chase after two preschoolers in the pool, while you get to sit on your butt and do nothing?” one follower commented on the photos. Another wrote, “Get in the pool and play with your kids, it’s such a fun family activity.” Yet another added, “Why aren’t you swimming Jill?”
Aside from questioning Jill on why she wasn’t swimming with her kids, others asked if swimwear had something to do with it. While she may not be swimming in this specific set of photos, it’s clear Jill does spend time in the pool, however. Dillard added a photo back in June 2018 to his Instagram showing Jill with their two sons hanging out in the water on a hot summer day, and it looked like Jill was wearing an average one-piece bathing suit.
We’re not sure why Jill didn’t go in the water this go-round, but perhaps her attire had nothing to do with it. Either way, fans will surely continue to question it.
