‘Counting On’ Fans Think Jeremy Vuolo Needs to Update His Footwear Now That He and Jinger Duggar Have Moved to L.A.
Jinger Duggar is an Angeleno now, and she’s embracing her new home by trying out a new look. The Counting On star surprised fans when she ditched her brunette locks for a trendy blonde mane in advance of her big move to Los Angeles.
Jinger’s husband Jeremy Vuolo has been slower to embrace a relaxed California style. When his wife shared a photo of him strolling around L.A.’s Studio City neighborhood, her Instagram followers had some blunt fashion advice for the dad of one.
‘Counting On’ fans say Jeremy’s shoes are all wrong
In the photo, Jeremy is seen carrying daughter Felicity while crossing the street. The gorgeous sunset and palm trees swaying in the background give the image a quintessentially Southern California look, except for one thing — Jeremy’s shoes.
The 31-year-old former pro soccer player is sporting a pair of tan leather loafers with dark blue jeans and a red T-shirt. The outfit prompted some serious criticism from commenters on Jinger’s Instagram, with many saying that he needed to switch to some more casual footwear in order to fit in.
“I say this with love and respect…. now that you’re in California, Jeremy needs some flip flops,” wrote one. “Please get that man some flip flops or top siders!!” another added.
“Jeremy plz visit the vans store or get some sandals or flips. Those shoes just don’t go with jeans and tee shirts,” chimed in another fan.
While many felt that a more laid-back look was appropriate for an evening walk with the family, not everyone hated the stiff-looking loafers.
“I’ve lived in southern California for 47 years and have never worn flip flops. They aren’t required for California citizenship,” said one commenter.
“Lets focus more on what a great dad and lovingly husband Jeremy is, and not his shoes! Which by the way are really nice!” wrote another person.
Jinger and Jeremy’s California adventures
Questionable footwear aside, Jinger and Jeremy seem to be embracing their new big-city life. They’ve only lived in the Los Angeles area for a few weeks, but they’ve already caught both of the city’s MLS teams in action. They also hit up cult favorite ice cream shop Salt & Straw and stopped by Armani Wells, a vintage clothing shop owned by Claudia Wells, who played Marty McFly’s girlfriend in Back to the Future. The couple even made it through their first California earthquake (though the fig tree in their yard wasn’t so lucky.)
While the Counting On couple appear to love their new SoCal lifestyle, fans can’t help but worry about them. “Hope your all in a safe area,” commented one concerned fan on Jinger’s photo of Jeremy and Felicity. “Watch the news. Being out after dark is when all the trouble happens out that way. I actually feel bad for you that jeremy would risk taking you to LA of all places,” wrote another terrified fan.
Despite the fears of some fans, the Vuolos appear to be doing just fine in their new hometown. Given that Jinger has long talked about her desire to leave small-town life behind and live in a big city, we suspect she’s probably happy as a clam in L.A.
