‘Counting On’ Fans Want Jill Duggar to Cut Even More of Her Hair After Her Recent Salon Visit

While 19 Kids and Counting fans may remember the Duggars from when they were just kids, TLC’s Counting On has brought an entirely new perspective to the family. The Duggars we once remember as teens are now all grown up with children and families of their own. And while many of the Duggars, like Jessa, Jinger, and Jana, are featured on the show, there are a few who are no longer on Counting On — and Jill Duggar is one of them.

Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, are no longer on our screens due to Dillard’s transphobic tweets of the past. But Jill still has a serious following on social media. Recently, she visited a salon for a hair makeover — though fans are begging her to cut her tresses.

The Duggar women are known for their long hair

The Duggars are ultra-conservative, and there’s a reason all of the women in the family keep their hair long. In the Duggar daughters’ 2014 tell-all book, Growing Up Duggar, they explained exactly why they don’t cut their hair, too. “Our hairstyle is our choice and we choose longer hair based on our understanding of 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 … while it is a shame for a man to have long hair, a woman’s hair is her glory,” they wrote.

We also can’t forget that Michelle Duggar loves to keep her hair long because that’s what husband Jim Bob likes, too. The women in the family believe the man in the house dictates how they should look. And while there was one episode of 19 Kids and Counting back in 2013 that featured Michelle getting a makeover (which included a hair trim), she was clearly uncomfortable with her new, shorter look.

The Duggar kids have maintained many of their conservative views even after getting married and leaving the home they grew up in behind. Even so, they have branched out a bit. We’ve seen many of the women rocking pants instead of long skirts, and Jill even has her nose pierced. And while Jill still has long hair, it seems she’s willing to go out on a limb every once in a while to try something new with her hair, too.

“Loved getting to have my hair trimmed and layered by @danielleseewald,” Jill started her latest post on Instagram. “BTW, this was my FIRST TIME having my hair washed and all at a salon! Great job girl!” There seems to be some family connection in the photo, too. Ben Seewald is Jessa Duggar’s husband, and Jill’s stylist, Danielle, is Ben’s sister.

Jill’s husband also chimed in on the comments section of the photo. “Lookin’ good baby!” he wrote.

Fans want her to cut her long locks

Many of Jill’s followers have commented positively on her new look. Her critics, of course, think she would look better if she cut her hair significantly, however. As one of Jill’s followers wrote on Instagram, “You need to cut more!” And yet another added, “NEVER had your hair professionally done before? Good grief, girl, I knew Arkansas was backwoods America, but that is so backward! Btw, you need at least another FOOT cut off.”

Another told Jill that she should donate her hair to help out those who need wigs. “Wigs are very expensive and for families already stretched by medical expenses[.] It would make such a difference. Your hair will grow back, those little ones with alopecia, it never will,” the fan commented

We doubt Jill will listen to those who want her to cut her hair, however. And since Derick Dillard already said he liked it, that might be the most important opinion to her of all.
