‘Counting On’: Jana Duggar Just Showed How She Makes Her Money on Instagram

We’ve been keeping up with the Duggars for over a decade thanks to TLC, and many of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s kids are quickly approaching their 30s. While fans love to see what Jinger Duggar is up to in Los Angeles and how Jessa Duggar is faring with her three kids, it’s Jana who’s getting major attention.

Jana’s single, 29 years old, and still living under Jim Bob and Michelle’s roof. And while she appears to be happy in Arkansas, many have wondered when (or if) she’s ever going to move away — and how she’ll have the money to do so when the time comes.

We’re still not sure exactly how many of the Duggars make their money, but it seems Jana may have just given her Instagram followers a clue as to where her income is coming from. Here’s what she posted.

Jana Duggar still lives at home with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar

The Duggars live at home until they’re married (or, in Jed Duggar’s case, until they go into politics). And this rings true for Jana as well. While many of her younger siblings tied the knot and moved away, Jana is still stuck at home — though she doesn’t appear to mind it. She’s often seen taking care of her younger siblings for her parents, and we’re sure she helps out with the cooking and cleaning as well.

Not only is Jana like a second mom to many of the Duggars, but she also plays the piano for her church, participates in plenty of house projects, and keeps herself busy with the Duggar family’s gorgeous garden.

It seems Jana may have her own business as well. She filed paperwork for a business called Arbor Acres Group LLC with the state of Arkansas. As for what the purpose of Arbor Acres is, we’re still not sure.

She likely makes money from her appearances on ‘Counting On’

The Duggars don’t often talk about money, but we know they make a steady income from Counting On. It’s been reported that the family makes between $25,000 and $40,000 per episode of the show — though we’re not sure exactly how that money’s divided among them. And we’re also not sure how much of that income Jana sees personally.

While Jana probably gets some money from the show, Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, might disagree. Dillard recently took to Twitter to claim Jim Bob negotiated all the contracts with TLC for Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting — and Jim Bob allegedly didn’t tell his adult kids the details of the contracts, either. Dillard also suggested he and Jill didn’t receive paychecks from TLC, and he made further statements threatening to sue the network.

Jana’s now promoting products on her Instagram

It looks like Jana’s following in the footsteps of many of her sisters. We’ve seen Jessa and Jill promote products on their Instagram, and Jana took to her Instagram Story to showcase her partnership with Vanity Planet.

“Some of my sisters have been using Vanity Planet’s skin cleanser brush, and so I decided to try it as well,” Jana told her Instagram followers in an advertisement for the company. She then added details on what cleanser she uses with the brush and more perks of the product in addition to her discount code.

Jana’s Instagram is typically full of family photos, snapshots of her home projects, or photos of her garden — and we rarely see ads. Is she trying to build up her own personal income for a brighter future outside of the Duggar family home? We’re not sure — though it’s certain eagle-eyed fans will speculate.
