‘Counting On’: Jessa Duggar’s Husband Said He’d Like to Move to the City Like Jinger Duggar

The Duggars are back with another season of Counting On, and fans are excited to see what’s going on in their lives — especially when it comes to Jim Bob and Michelle’s older kids. We’re used to most of the family living in Arkansas, but the Duggars are officially branching out. Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, are in Los Angeles, California — a place no Duggar has ventured to live before.

Jinger is quite close to her sisters, and we’ve witnessed the special bond she has with Jessa. While Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, still reside in Arkansas, it seems Ben may have big-city life on the brain thanks to Jinger’s big breakaway. Here’s what he said about potentially wanting to live in the city and how Jessa reacted.

Jinger Duggar’s thriving in Los Angeles

Most of the Duggars, older and younger, still live in their home state of Arkansas — but not Jinger. Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo decided to make a move to the big city of Los Angeles in the summer of 2019 after living in Laredo, Texas. And their main reasoning for heading out west was for Jeremy’s schooling, as he enrolled at The Master’s Seminary on Grace Community Church’s campus for his graduate studies.

Jeremy had a plan going into the Los Angeles move, and it seems Jinger is also loving big-city living, too. She’s been posting about all of her adventures to her Instagram, and fans are loving seeing their daughter, Felicity, thriving in the urban environment. Jinger’s also mentioned that she still regularly keeps up with the other Duggars via group texts amongst the other family members. And more recently, we noticed Jim Bob, Michelle, and a few other family members went to visit Jinger and Jeremy in California.

Jessa Duggar’s said before that she doesn’t think she’ll be in Arkansas forever

Jinger and Jessa had a close relationship growing up, so there’s no doubt Jessa must be missing her sister. And given how strong-willed and fearless Jessa often appears to be, there’s a good chance she may be the next one to risk it all and move far away from her other family members, too. Now that she recently had her third child, Ivy, however, it’d definitely make a move more difficult for her and husband Ben Seewald.

According to OK! Magazine, Jinger and Jessa had previously discussed Jessa moving as well. The publication notes when Jinger and Jeremy first moved to Laredo, Texas, they asked Jessa and Ben if they’d also be packing their bags for a Texas move. We know Jessa never moved down to Texas, but it seems she did comment on not wanting to live in Arkansas for the rest of her life. “We’re not set on staying here [in Arkansas] forever, but if we were to be called somewhere else, then we would pack up and move…,” Jessa reportedly said.

Ben Seewald said he’d love to move to the big city

It’s not just Jessa who’s talked about potentially getting out of Arkansas. On a recent episode of Counting On, the Duggars discussed their thoughts on moving out of the countryside and into the city — and Ben had an interesting takeaway. “I actually like the city,” Ben said. “I like to visit the city,” Jessa added. To that, Ben then threw in, “I wouldn’t mind living in the city, the big city.” And Jessa’s eyes got incredibly wide at Ben’s response.

The other Duggars seemed firmly in the camp that they would remain country folk, however. And given Jessa’s response, it doesn’t seem likely she’ll be moving to the big city anytime soon. We’ll have to wait and see if she and Ben do decide to move in the future. But now that they’re saddled with three kids, it might be more difficult than ever to hit the road.
