‘Counting On’: Jill Dillard Admits She’s Exhausted With 2 Boys, But Is She Done Having Children?

It’s a struggle any parent can relate to. Even if you love your kids, taking care of little ones can be a huge challenge, especially when they’re close in age. Even Jill Dillard admitted that the struggle is real.

But now fans are wondering if Dillard’s most recent Instagram confessions might indicate that she’s not planning to have any more kids. It’s clear that the 28-year-old mother of two has her hands full, and clearly that strain is starting to take a toll on her sanity. Especially since she’s the one taking care of them all day, every day.

Is there a chance Jill Dillard might be done having kids? It sounds like things could go that way.

The Duggar family preaches against using birth control

If Jill and Derick Dillard did plan to prevent expanding their family by using birth control, that would be a huge breach of Duggar family protocol. Michelle Duggar is outspoken in her disdain for artificial birth control, though she did use it in the early years of her marriage (which she now regrets).

But Counting On fans have been wondering for years if Duggar kids like Jill Dillard might already be breaking their parent’s rules about using birth control. After all, it doesn’t seem like most will wind up having 19 kids like their mom did. Could they be adopting a more progressive approach to limiting their family sizes?

Jill Dillard is feeling stressed about motherhood

Maybe it was just a bad day. Or perhaps there was something more to Jill Dillard’s most recent Instagram story, which showed her trying to clean up a huge mess that her boys made of her brand-new home.

Y’all …” Jill started the story, before taking a pause to center herself as she was interrupted by one of her sons reaching for a snack. Then she showed off the wreckage of her home, including gobs of sticky hard shell chocolate sauce in the kitchen, lemon oil on the counter, soap on the bathroom floor, water on the carpet, pencil on the walls, puzzles in the living room, and more destruction at every turn.

“This is me frustrated … [My son] is screaming at me because he wants a game. I just told them to go lay down or go outside until mommy can cool down and handle this situation,” she said in exasperation.

She’s still grateful for her kids and ‘counting her blessings’

Despite the bleak message of the stories, Jill Dillard ends the rant on an upbeat note. She said, “Tryin’a count blessings,” she explained. “[I’m] looking forward to getting energy out at the pool and then bedtime, lol. #choosejoy #speaklife #keepmarching.”

Then Dillard thanked her friends and husband for their support in the chaos, plus pointed out that her stressful moment ended on a happy note with the kids playing outside with the neighbor’s dog.

Will Jill and Derick Dillard have more children?

Though she didn’t outright address the topic of having more kids on social media, there’s a good chance Jill Dillard is thinking about it now that so many of her sisters and sisters-in-law are pregnant. But considering how dangerous pregnancy is for Dillard, there’s a good possibility she’ll decide to stop at two kids. Also, another child would mean even more messes and craziness at home.

Even if she does decide to have another baby, Jill Dillard may need to wait a year or two for her boys to outgrow the mischievous phase a little bit!
