‘Counting On’: Jill Duggar Was Once Again Left Out of a Duggar Family Event
The Duggar family has become one of reality television’s most famous families. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar’s kids have been on TV since 2008, and fans have watched the Duggars grow up through the years. But lately, fans have suspected there could be tension between Jill Duggar and her family. And she was recently absent from another Duggar family event.
Jill and her sister used to be the focus of the show
When 19 Kids and Counting was canceled after Josh Duggar’s sexual abuse scandal leaked, TLC put a new spin on the show in 2015, which mainly focused on the two other married Duggars: Jill and Jessa. Both women had been married since 2014 and were just starting their families, so they quickly became prominent cast members. Through the years, though, other Duggars grew up and got married, too; now, the show focuses on John, Jinger, Josiah, and Joseph, too, as well as some of the younger Duggars. And Jill and her family left Counting On in 2017.
Some think the Dillards’ exit created tension between Jill and the family
When Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, left Counting On in 2017, there were conflicting ideas over the reason for their departure. Some fans thought it had to do with controversial tweets Dillard had written about other TLC stars. But Jill has since said that the two weren’t fired from the show, and Derick once hinted on Twitter that there were tensions between him and Jim Bob over a payout from the show. If the couple’s exit does have to do with money, that might explain why it seems like tensions are high between the Dillards and Jill’s parents.
The Duggars had a family night while Jill and Derick attended a Christmas show
Earlier this week, the Duggars got together for a family night. Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth hosted, and many of the kids attended. Jessa and Ben brought their kids over, and Jana posted a photo of everyone doting on Ivy Jane. However, at the same time, Jill and Derick were over at their church watching the Christmas show. It’s unclear whether they had already made the plans before family night or why the Duggars chose not to attend the Christmas show as well, but Jill posted photos of her husband and kids while her family was all together.
Fans hope the families haven’t had a falling out
Though Jill and her family members have never publicly expressed whether there is any tension between her and her family, fans have hoped that the Dillards haven’t had a falling out with the Duggars. People have noticed that Jill and Jessa’s kids never seem to spend any time together, which has only escalated the rumors of a rift. Jill and Derick always seem to be doing something on their own; they didn’t even spend Thanksgiving with her family. Fans will have to see what the couple does when Christmas rolls around; will they spend it with the Duggars, the Dillards, or by themselves?
