‘Counting On’: Jinger Duggar Admits She Compares Daughter Felicity to ‘Other Kids Her Age’
This season of Counting On is already revealing tons of details about some of our favorite Duggar family members, like Jessa, Jana, and Joy-Anna. And if there’s one Duggar who everyone seems to be rooting for, it’s Jinger. Jinger and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, announced that they were moving to Los Angeles this season — and as their Instagram followers know, they’ve been working to make the big city home for several months now. The two seem to be thriving on the West Coast, too. And of course, they’re giving us plenty of updates regarding their daughter, Felicity.
Recently on the show, Jinger was talking about her daughter, and she noted that she can’t help but compare Felicity to other kids that are her daughter’s age. Here’s what Jinger had to say.
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have 1 child together, Felicity
The Duggars are known for their love of kids, as they’ve talked about how they don’t believe in birth control since the early days of 19 Kids and Counting. And since many of the older Duggars have gotten married and started families of their own, many have speculated whether they’re going to have as many kids as their parents. While Josh Duggar has a sixth child on the way and Jessa recently had her third, it seems Jinger and Jeremy are sitting comfortably with one daughter so far.
Jinger gave birth to Felicity back in July 2018, E! News reports. There’s currently no sign that Jinger and Jeremy are going to have another baby soon, either, as they’re still getting settled into their California lifestyle. But we can’t forget that the couple has stated in the past that they’d love to have as many kids as God will provide them with, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Jinger and Jeremy have family expansion on the brain.
Jinger’s frequently posting updates about Felicity on social media
We get glimpses of Felicity on Counting On, but Jinger has an active social media presence that gives her followers plenty of updates on how her daughter’s doing. On Felicity’s first birthday, Jinger posted photos of her daughter when she was a newborn and added the caption, “She has been nothing but a joy, and we are excited to see what the Lord has in store for this precious one. Our prayer is that Felicity will love and serve Christ supremely all her days.” And since then, we’ve also seen posts about Felicity learning to walk and taking an interest in Jeremy’s hobbies, like soccer.
While Jinger and Jeremy are devout Christians, many think the couple will allow Felicity to live a less sheltered life than how Jinger grew up. As we know, Jinger wasn’t allowed to consume modern media growing up, and she also had to abide by a strict dress code and dating rules. Felicity is already wearing stylish clothing for a little girl her age, and we’re willing to bet she’s also being exposed to a lot of pop culture since she’s living in Los Angeles.
She told cameras that she compares other kids to her daughter
Jinger and Jeremy absolutely adore their daughter, but Jinger came clean to Counting On cameras that she does compare Felicity to other kids. “I definitely compare Felicity to other kids her age,” Jinger told the cameras. “I think most parents probably do that. You see another kid over there who’s crawling and maybe your baby isn’t crawling yet, or they’re not rolling over, and you can get kind of scared. But also, at the same time, you can’t compare too much because every kid is different.”
These comments came off the heels of Jessa taking her son, Henry, to doctors to see if the child has any developmental delays. Thankfully, it seems Henry is on track with where he needs to be. And as far as Felicity is concerned, she seems like a bright and happy little girl who’s thriving in her new home, too.
