‘Counting On’: Jinger Duggar Gives Fans a Peek At Her Christmas Decorations
Jinger Duggar has become a fan favorite among Counting On fans. She and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, moved out to California over the summer, and this will be their first Christmas in their new (rental) home. The Duggars have always celebrated Christmas a bit differently than most people, but it seems like Duggar and Vuolo are starting some new traditions in their new home. And Duggar just let fans in on a bit of her decorating.
The Duggars don’t traditionally believe in Santa
The Duggar family is very religious, and their values and traditions are far different from how most Americans think. When it comes to Christmas, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar don’t deck the halls with Santa Claus statues and reindeer ornaments. Rather, the kids were not allowed to believe in Santa Claus growing up. Historically, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus, and while many people still attend church on the holiday, it has also become about Santa Claus, presents, and spending time with family. For the Duggars, though, Jesus is the reason for the season, and Santa Claus is not welcome in their home. Each year, the family hangs a “Happy Birthday, Jesus” banner, and they do not have a Christmas tree.
The Duggar children have broken a few Christmas rules since moving out
Now that some Duggar children have grown up and moved out, many of them have broken some rules. Some of the daughters now wear pants, and they’ve started to form their own traditions. Almost every now-married Duggar has a Christmas tree in their home; they tend to show them off on social media, so it seems like Michelle and Jim Bob are fine with their kids forming their own traditions. And Jinger Duggar recently gave fans a peek at her California Christmas décor.
Duggar recently let fans in on the Vuolo household’s Christmas décor
Vuolo and Duggar moved to California in early July, and they seem to have settled in nicely. Now that it’s Christmas time, Duggar has started decorating their home for the holiday. She recently showed fans a photo of her dining room on her Instagram story. Her dining table had a red table cloth, and there was a large Christmas tree in the corner of the room. Rather than have an angel on top, Duggar and Vuolo put a star — interesting, considering they have such close ties to their religion. The tree only had white lights and no ornaments, but it’s possible they have another tree that is more decorated.
It wouldn’t surprise fans if Duggar allowed Felicity to believe in Santa Claus
Though Duggar hasn’t made any mention of Santa Claus, it wouldn’t surprise fans if she and her husband allowed Felicity to believe in him. Vuolo was raised religiously but with a more modern upbringing than his wife. It’s unclear if he believed in Santa as a kid, but if he did, he would likely remember the joy it brought him and want that for his daughter, too. Fans also suspect that this will be the Vuolos last Christmas as a family of three — many people think that Duggar has showed signs of a second pregnancy in recent photos.
