‘Counting On’: Jinger Duggar Just Cancelled Her Appearance at an Event Due to ‘Personal Circumstances’

Whether you’re a fan of Counting On or you follow the Duggars through the media, there’s no doubt there’s always something big going on with the huge, famous family. And while Jim Bob and Michelle were the first to thrust their 19 kids into the spotlight, it’s their adult children who are keeping audiences around now — especially Jinger Duggar.

Jinger has been a fan favorite for years, and everyone loves that she made the decision to move across the country to California with her husband and daughter. She seems to adore Los Angeles so far — and she’s even starting to take part in events for fans. Unfortunately, it seems one of her event appearances fell through, and she chalked it up to “personal circumstances.” Could there be something else going on? Here’s what we know.

Jinger Duggar partnered with Rebecca Minkoff for an event

Duggar fans have been pulling for Jinger to move away from her famous family for years. Jinger made it known she was interested in big-city life back in the 19 Kids and Counting days, and now, she’s making all of her childhood fantasies come to life. But that doesn’t mean every move she’s making is well-received. While she may be more progressive than some of the other Duggars, many didn’t have nice things to say about her recent partnership with fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff.

Jinger announced she’d be making appearances at a Toys for Tots charity event in partnership with Minkoff. Toys for Tots donates toys to kids whose parents can’t afford to get them gifts for the holidays, so it seems Jinger’s heart was in the right place. Unfortunately, her fans critiqued her involvement with Minkoff, as the fashion put forth by the designer is quite expensive.

As one fan commented on Jinger’s Instagram announcement of the partnership, “Most people can’t afford those clothes Jinger!”

Jinger is no longer taking part in the event

Those looking for Jinger’s Instagram post about the event may notice it’s no longer there — and that’s because Jinger removed herself from it altogether.

According to the Eventbrite page, the event is still happening on Dec. 8 — but they noted Jinger won’t be apart of it. “In the spirit of the holiday season, Rebecca Minkoff will still be partnering with Toys For Tots at their LA Store. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances Jinger and Jeremy will no longer be making an appearance at the event, but encourage you to donate to this great cause!” the page reads.

It sounds like Jinger may have removed herself from this rather than Minkoff disassociating herself from Jinger and Jeremy, but we can’t say for sure exactly what happened. Jinger herself has not addressed it, either.

She’s been having a lot of problems with partnerships more recently

While Jinger is attempting to build her life as an influencer, it’s not working out so far. Jinger also had a partnership with Fonuts, a Los Angeles-based donut company, in early December — but Fonuts decided to part ways with her, too.

Shortly after Jinger posted a photo of her limited edition Jingerbread donut, Fonuts fans attacked and said the company was working with a member of a homophobic, misogynistic, and bigoted family. Fonuts then issued an apology on Instagram for working with a Duggar family member, and they cut ties with Jinger altogether.

“We apologize for our recent poor choice of promotional partner,” the company announced on Instagram. “We were shocked and dismayed to learn about who we were associating with. We recognize we really made a mistake by not properly researching them.”

We’re not sure where Jinger’s going to go from here, but maybe she’ll give up her influencer aspirations after so many letdowns.
