‘Counting On’: Jinger Duggar’s Daughter Felicity Just Took Her First Steps
Jinger Duggar’s daughter is growing up. The Counting On star’s daughter Felicity — who celebrated her first birthday in July — just took her first steps. Her proud mama announced the big news on her Instagram story.
Felicity Vuolo is walking
Jinger shared some videos of her baby girl on the move in their California home.
“Last night, Felicity decided to start walking ” she wrote. “She is walking all over the place today ”
“Look at that turn! #skills,” the 26-year-old added as a smiling Felicity tottered around the family’s living room.
Jeremy Vuolo says his daughter is growing up fast
Jinger’s husband Jeremy can’t get over how fast his daughter is growing up. On September 15, he shared a photo to Instagram of Felicity posed before an angel wings mural.
“Felicity’s really spreading her wings these days,” the 32-year-old seminary student wrote. “They grow up so fast!”
In the photo, Felicity appears to be floating in mid-air, which confused some commenters. Some thought whoever was holding the toddler had been Photoshopped out of the image, while others assumed she was sitting on a hidden ledge. Either way, the cute photo was a hit with fans.
“Awwww, that levitating milestone is such a big one,” quipped one.
Jinger and Jeremy are chronicling Felicity’s milestones
Like many proud parents, Jinger and Jeremy have been chronicling their first child’s milestones on social media. Jeremy recently shared a photo of his daughter floating in a pool, while Jinger’s snap of Felicity riding a wooden rocking horse was accompanied by a sweet caption where she said seeing her little one develop new skills was like “watching a flower bloom.”
“It seems like overnight that she’s gone from being fully reliant upon us for everything, to mastering crawling, leaving dad & mom chasing her all over the place!” Jinger wrote in a post from earlier in September. “Last night, Felicity conquered her rocking horse, which was no small feat! She had that thing moving.”
“I know that these days will pass quickly, and she will be running all over the place. I am just so thankful to have a front row seat, watching this little one explore the world around her,” Jinger added.
Jinger’s daughter will have a different childhood than she had
As Jinger’s daughter gets older, it’s becoming more and more clear that her child will be different from her mother’s. For one, she’s an only child (at least for now), and even if Jinger and Jeremy decide to have more kids, it’s unlikely she’ll end up with 18 siblings like her mom. Felicity is also growing up in a big coastal city rather than small-town Arkansas.
While Felicity is still too young for school, some fans think that Jinger might eschew the Duggar’s homeschooling tradition and send Felicity to private school instead. Jinger has also indicated that she’d be open to the idea of her kids attending college, saying in a 2018 episode of Counting On that she thinks “higher education is excellent.”
Felicity’s childhood is different from her mother’s in other ways too. She’s allowed to wear pants, which Jinger didn’t do growing up. Plus, her mom seems to be eager to encourage her daughter’s love of sports, noting in a recent Instagram post that “It looks like she wants to be a goalkeeper like her daddy.”
