‘Counting On’: Lauren Swanson Reveals She Is Having A Hard Pregnancy Amid Josiah Duggar Breakdown Rumors
Counting On stars Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson are expecting a baby girl this fall, but the road to being parents has been a difficult one for the young couple. Last October, they suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage, and in her most recent baby bump update, Swanson revealed her second pregnancy hasn’t been “easy.”
A miracle from God
Ever since Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson announced they were expecting again back in May, they have laid relatively low on social media. Aside from a couple of bump updates and their gender reveal, they haven’t really shared anything about their journey to parenthood.
Considering the heartbreak they experienced with their first pregnancy, it makes sense they would want to keep things to themselves. But, they finally gave fans an update with an Instagram post that featured Lauren in a floor-length blue dress cradling her baby bump, and she has definitely popped.
In the caption, Lauren wrote that life is a gift she cherishes now more than ever after everything she and Josiah have been through in the past year. “This pregnancy hasn’t been easy,” said Lauren. “I treasure every moment, and I am reminded daily that life is truly a miracle from God.”
Rainbow after the storm
When Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson announced they were pregnant again just months after their miscarriage, they told fans this baby was their “rainbow after the storm.” They said they were grateful that God had blessed them again with another precious gift, but they still remembered their other sweet baby, Asa, who is in heaven.
Not long after their pregnancy announcement, they told fans that baby number two is a girl who is already loved. For the gender reveal to family and friends, they threw a party that featured balloons filled with white, pink, or blue confetti, and told guests to pop the balloons to find out the gender. And, according to People Magazine, when they popped the last balloon, pink confetti flew through the air.
The 2019 Duggar baby boom has been all about the girls. In addition to Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald have already welcomed a baby girl they named Ivy Jane. And, two other couples in the family are expecting girls – Joseph and Kendra and Josh and Anna. John David and Abbie Grace have not yet revealed their baby’s gender.
Josiah Duggar is ‘not mentally stable’
While Josiah and Lauren appear to be happily married with a baby on the way, one insider says that the 22-year-old Duggar will be the next member of the family to “break out” and rebel against Jim Bob and Michelle, just like his sister, Jinger.
A former Duggar employee says that fans “need to keep an eye on Josiah Duggar” because “he’s not mentally stable. Something is gonna crack soon, mark my words.”
“Josiah has always been a ninety mile an hour kid. When he posted on Facebook under the name of Matthew that should’ve told you something,” says the source.
Josiah has always been a rebel
Josiah is one of the few Duggar kids to have a social media account before getting married, and the insider says that he had a secret Facebook account filled with secular posts that were sometimes flirtatious. The account has since been deleted, but the fact that Josiah was willing to sneak around on social media against his parents’ wishes is a hint that he is willing to do things his own way.
The insider also claims that Josiah’s marriage to Lauren Swanson was a possible set-up between Jim Bob and Lauren’s father Wayne, and it was an attempt to tame Josiah Duggar’s behavior.
