‘Counting On’: The 1 Major Reason Fans Think Jedidiah Will Start Courting Soon
When Jedidiah Duggar joined Instagram in October 2019, fans saw it as a sure sign he was preparing to court. Individual social media has traditionally been the way the Duggar family introduces themselves individually to the world and announces the next step in their life.
Only a week later, Duggar used his new Insta to announce that he was running for office in 2020.
The Instagram mystery was solved… for about two minutes. Fans of Counting On quickly connected the dots again and surmised that while his Instagram account was created for his political campaign, perhaps a courtship would be too.
Jedidiah Duggar’s campaign begins
It took all of one day for the campaign launch to go off the rails. Eagle-eyed fans noted that he had filed to run in the wrong district. Another Instagram post had fans wondering if he or his twin brother Jeremiah had secretly moved out.
Given Jed’s upbringing, it makes sense that he’s not particularly adept at social media yet. It makes sense that Duggar created an Instagram to improve his odds of winning his political campaign. Could he also be considering courting for the same reason?
The most recent season of Counting On wrapped up on December 17 with no sign of Duggar’s future wife. It’s still unclear if the show will be renewed for an 11th season (which would be a 21st season of 19 Kids and Counting overall).
However, Duggar and the rest of the Duggars are real people. Whether the show returns to TLC or not he’s still moving forward. Fans speculate that he may be entering into a courtship soon with Lauren Caldwell.
The show introduced Lauren to fans as the younger sister of Kendra Caldwell. Kendra is married to Jedidiah’s older brother Joseph, making Lauren Jedidiah’s sister-in-law’s sister.
The future of Jedidiah Duggar’s campaign
Jed continued to grow his campaign over the last couple months, promoting his twin brother Jeremiah to campaign manager. Jeremiah stirred courtship rumors of his own recently with an appearance on the Duggar family Insta. But nothing solid has been reported and it doesn’t appear that Jeremiah created a personal Instagram account of his own.
Perhaps he’s focusing on managing his brother’s campaign first. As Jed approaches the election, the next season of Counting On will surely touch on it in some way. Jedidiah hasn’t been featured too much in recent seasons, but there’s only so much screen time per person for a show that’s based on having over two dozen family members.
Jedidiah will likely make headlines outside the Counting On world if he wins the election.
Mainstream media will probably have comments about a representative who lives at home with his parents. Luckily, this won’t be the first or last conflict the Duggar family has with how the rest of the world chooses to live their life.
Outside of the initial media blitz, Duggar will probably do just fine in his new role. As fans of the show know, his father Jim Bob Duggar held a similar position in the Arkansas legislature from 1999 to 2002. It appears that JB is behind Jed all the way.
What a successful campaign means for the show
Over the last 15 years, fans have picked up plenty of Duggar family traditions. Jedidiah Duggar initially threw fans for a loop with his Instagram announcement as they assumed it meant he was courting.
Now that he’s announced his candidacy, fans believe they were initially right. Americans love to vote for a family man, especially in Arkansas. Could Jed’s Instagram kill two birds with one stone?
Whether he’s courting or not, we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the coming months. If Counting On comes back for season 11, Jed may end up a star. Only nine months until the election!
