‘Counting On’: The Bizarre Reason Why Some Fans Believe Jinger Duggar Is Hiring a Nanny
Hiring a nanny is a totally acceptable move for moms who need a break. But it seems strange to think that Jinger Duggar, who just moved to California with her husband Jeremy and baby daughter Felicity, would make such an extreme lifestyle choice.
Yet that’s exactly what some Duggar family followers are saying in the wake of the Vuolos big move to the West Coast. Though Jinger Duggar hasn’t indicated any desire to hire a nanny, au pair, or even an occasional babysitter, fans are assuming that the Los Angeles mentality will wear off on the “rebellious Duggar daughter” soon enough.
She wouldn’t be the first reality star to enlist the help of a nanny. But it still seems like a far-fetched theory based on the facts.
Jinger Duggar is more progressive than other family members
The Duggars are known for their conservative, deeply Christian values and lifestyles. In the modern world, that means rejecting basic feminist ideas like using birth control, having premarital sex, and women working outside the home — and so far, every single Duggar wife has followed suit.
Jinger Duggar hasn’t exactly followed every tenet of her strict Baptist upbringing. She certainly caused a stir a few weeks ago when she bleached her long locks blonde in anticipation of becoming a California girl (it looks like she dyed it back to brown since then).
Even the move itself was controversial. Most of the Duggar kids live within driving distance of their parents’ house and visit often. Jinger and Jeremy moved to Laredo, Texas so he could accept a ministry job there, so they were already bucking tradition before this move to LA.
Fans cautioned the Vuolos about moving to LA
Even though Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo don’t do everything exactly like Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, they still consider themselves counter-cultural in the way they live. That’s why this move to one of the most liberal cities in America had some fans feeling nervous.
Jeremy Vuolo will be pursuing graduate studies at The Master’s Seminary and continuing his vocation as a church pastor. But despite their religious reasons for moving, fans cautioned that the family would encounter some animosity in California “Why LA! Most importantly, why California! Born and raised in California and my family and I couldn’t get out fast enough! No place to raise a family! Hopefully it’s not a permanent move!” one fan commented.
They have no reason to hire a full-time nanny
Warning the couple about Los Angeles is one thing. But thinking they’re planning to hire a nanny is downright weird.
Like all the other Duggar wives, Jinger is a stay-at-home mom who’s 100% committed to raising her daughter full time. That doesn’t stop some moms from hiring help, of course — since all mothers need a break — but there’s no reason to believe this rumor is true.
Every picture of Jinger, Jeremy, and Felicity clearly shows the family of three enjoying time together without any extra parties involved. While the Vuolos might need babysitters for date nights now that they’re so far from family, it’s silly to believe they’ll hire a nanny just because they live in California now.
