Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth are one of many couples on the TLC show Counting On. The two announced a pregnancy earlier this year, but unfortunately, they lost the baby at 20 weeks. Since then, they’ve been doing their best to resume life as normal while also caring for their young son. Duggar has said that she isn’t strong after going through the miscarriage. Will the couple announce another pregnancy any time soon?

Duggar and Forsyth have a young son, Gideon

Duggar and Forsyth wed when Duggar was very young; she was only 19 when they got married. The two have known each other for years through church, but Forsyth was four years older than her, and they were nothing more than friends as children. However, once Duggar turned 18, Forsyth started to see her in a different light, and the two entered into a courtship; they wed in May 2017. Once they were married, the two didn’t wait long to start having kids. Almost exactly nine months later, in February 2018, they welcomed their first child, Gideon.

The couple tragically announced a miscarriage earlier this year

Duggar and Forsyth were very excited to be parents to another child, and they announced earlier this year that there was another baby on the way. Both of them are very religious, and they are willing to have as many children as God will give them. Friends, family, and fans were all looking forward to the new baby, but tragically, only a couple months after they announced the pregnancy, they learned their baby had no heartbeat. Duggar had to deliver the child at 20 weeks, and it was a very emotionally taxing event for her. She even had a newborn photoshoot with the baby.

Duggar will likely need several months to mentally heal before trying for another baby

In early July, Duggar and Forsyth posted to Instagram; they had learned one week prior that their baby did not have a heartbeat. On July 26, Duggar posted to Instagram saying that she was still struggling with losing the baby. “People say that I am strong, but I am not,” her photo caption read. Duggar has since been spending a lot of quality time with her son and her family. She’s started to focus on her business with her husband (the two are currently building a new house to sell) and has spent time with those around her. Realistically, Duggar will need a bit of time to heal from the loss. It’s possible the two might start trying for another baby in the fall, after they’ve had a few months to move on from the miscarriage. We likely won’t hear a pregnancy announcement until the end of 2019, at the earliest.

Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson are expecting a child after their miscarriage

Duggar and Forsyth aren’t the only Duggar couple to feel the same type of loss. Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson announced earlier this year that they had lost their first pregnancy to a miscarriage. Swanson needed time to move on from the loss as well, and during the spring, she announced that they are once again expecting a baby. Michelle Duggar also had a miscarriage during her first pregnancy. But all the women have one another to lean on during those hard times.
