‘Criminal Minds’ Season 15: Predictions for the Final Season

Criminal Minds now has a premiere date for Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at 9 p.m. E.S.T. The premiere will be two hours long and fans are totally freaking out. There are only 10 episodes left in the hit series, so now is the perfect time to predict what might happen in season 15. Read on for predictions and potential spoilers.

Who will the profilers catch?

Season 15 will continue with the hunt for Everett “Chameleon” Lynch (Mike Mosley). David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) won’t stop until he gets him, and the BAU profilers probably will catch him before it’s all really over.

“We kick off the final ten with a two-parter, basically,” showrunner Erica Messer said. “Whether they’re aired at the same time or not is unclear, but it’s a two-hour story. The emotional journey of our heroes [picks] up about six months after this finale has aired, and chasing the Chameleon. We haven’t broken the end of the series yet but, ideally, we’re catching that guy.”

What’s going to happen with the Reid and JJ situation?

Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Jennifer “JJ” Jareau (A.J. Cook) have major unfinished business after an eye-opening confession of love on JJ’s part. She had to reveal a secret she’d never said out loud before, and she revealed a whopper.

“Spence, um, I’ve always loved you. And I was just too scared to say it before. And now things are just really too complicated to say now,” JJ said. “I’m sorry, but you should know.”

The series will definitely be addressing this in season 15, but nothing will probably come of it. They are close friends and will end up staying that way. JJ is married with children and she isn’t going to screw that up, not to mention Reid will have other options.

Will Shemar Moore return as Derek Morgan?

Shemar Moore played Derek Morgan with an enormous fan following. His character wasn’t killed off, but chose to leave the BAU. He’s returned before in the season 12 finale as well as season 13. Fans are hoping to see him again one final time before it’s all really over. Things sound promising that we may see Morgan again.

Showrunner Erica Messer spoke with Deadline back in January about the possibility of old cast members returning, and things sound hopeful. “I am very hopeful that we can honor all of those characters who have been beloved and with this team, with the audience for years, but I don’t know what that’s going to look like; I don’t know the logistics of anything or the story,” Messer said. “That won’t be shooting until the spring, so I have some time to think about it, but the hope is to be able to honor all of that history, all of those heroes who have come and gone.”

Is Dr. Spencer Reid finally going to find love?

Reid’s options seem to be opening up going into the final season. Rachael Leigh Cook has been cast as Max and she will play Reid’s love interest in at least two of the final 10 episodes. It’s safe to say things aren’t going to work out romantically for Reid and JJ, especially with this new woman being thrown into the mix. It sounds like Reid may find love after all with Max when the series finally concludes. Fans are hoping to see Reid happy with someone in the end.

Viewers are excited to find out what’s really going to happen in season 15 of Criminal Minds. The wait is thankfully almost over.
