‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 25: Are Your Favorite Pro Dancers Returning to the Ballroom?

A new season of Dancing with the Stars is fast approaching, and everyone is excited for the new lineup of stars, as well as the dancing pros who are returning to the ballroom. The new cast of celebrities, and the dancing pros they are paired with, was supposed to be kept under wraps until ABC’s official announcement was made on Sept. 6. However, with cameras everywhere these days, keeping the secret wasn’t easy and some of the pairings were leaked early (and later confirmed on Good Morning America).

The first pairing revealed by the network for this season was Property Brothers host Drew Scott, who will be vying for the Mirror Ball Trophy with pro partner and Season 24 winner, Emma Slater. Here is a list of some of the other fan favorite pros returning to the ballroom, and which celebs they will be dancing with, when Season 25 kicks off on Sept. 18.:

Fans are very happy that DWTS hunk Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning to the show, and we now know that he and his wife, Peta Mergatroyd, won’t be the only married couple in the ballroom this season. Nick and Vanessa Lachey have joined the cast and teamed up with the married pros to face off against each other.

This is the first time a married couple will be competing in the same season since Alexa PenaVega and her husband, Carlos, did in Season 21.

Val Chmerkovskiy and Victoria Arlen

Maks’ younger brother, Val, will also be competing this season. His partner is former paralympic swimmer and ESPN personality, Victoria Arlen. A source told ET that Val is very happy about being paired with Arlen and is excited to hit the dance floor with her this season.

“Val is beyond excited about his partner this season,” the source said. “He’s completely re-energized and is feeling really optimistic about this season.”

Mark Ballas and Lindsey Stirling

Another fan favorite making his return is Mark Ballas. The pro dancer took a break the past couple of seasons to focus on other projects, including performing in the Broadway musical, Jersey Boys.

Now though, Ballas is ready to jump back into the competition and is paired up with violinist Lindsey Stirling.

Sharna Burgess and Derek Fisher

I know you think you know… so go ahead and tell me in the comments ‍♀️

Sharna Burgess will be returning to the ballroom for Season 2, and had been teasing fans via social media about who her new partner was going to be. Many of her followers were able to identify that the sneakers she wore in her Instagram story matched a pair Derek Fisher recently wore. Burgess also posted a photo last week with the mystery contestant behind her.

Fans who speculated that it was the former NBA star were correct, and one commenter gave them the nickname of Team SharFish.

Lindsay Arnold and Jordan Fisher

Lindsay Arnold took to Instagram to tease her partner’s identity too, and fans somehow guessed that they were looking at Jordan Fisher’s backside. The two will be hitting the dance floor together this season.

Fisher is best known for his role as Seacat in Teen Beach Movie. He also appeared in Grease Live! with DWTS judge Julianne Hough, as well as the Broadway hit Hamilton.

Witney Carson and Frankie Muniz

This cat was let out of the bag well before the official announcement was made when cameras captured the former Malcom in the Middle actor, Frankie Muniz, rehearsing in studio with pro dancer Witney Carson.

The pair didn’t seem to notice that anyone was filming their rehearsal, and they looked pretty good together and seemed to be getting along.

Cheryl Burke and Terrell Owens

This just happened…#DWTS

On Monday, Sept. 4, Cheryl Burke was a guest on Good Morning America and announced she was returning to DWTS for her 20th season. Burke’s partner this season was a bit of a mystery since she had been paired with singer Bobby Brown, who pulled out at the last minute. However, on Tuesday, Sept. 5, it was revealed that she would be dancing with former NFL star Terrell Owens.

“We [practiced] a few hours the other day,” Burke said. “I have to say, he’s got some rhythm.”

In past seasons, athletes, particularly current and former NFL players, have done very well in the competition. In fact, Burke won Season 3 when she was paired with former NFL running back Emmitt Smith. So, it will be interesting to see how far she can make it with Owens as she competes for her third Mirror Ball Trophy.
