Brinkley-Cook and Chmerkovskiy were shockingly eliminated after they performed a jive to “Wake Me Up Before You Go.” The judges praised the dance and they got the score of 27 out of 30.

So they were shocked when it was revealed they have been eliminated. Brinkley-Cook was seen crying on the show and Chmerkovskiy tried to comfort her. Fans were also not happy with this results.

Many fans have tweeted about not understanding how Sean Spicer is still in the competition while they are going home. Now the duo is sharing their thoughts on the elimination.

Chmerkovskiy said it sucks they were eliminated

The professional dancer isn’t happy with the results. He told Us Weekly that he thinks something could be up with the decision.

“It sucks we got eliminated. That sucks, and I don’t think it’s right and I think that the show may or may not have made a mistake,” Chmerkovskiy said. He still loves the show despite what he sees as faults.

“But it’s not a perfect show. It is a show that has, at the core of its nucleus, this incredible effort to make people happy, and I think that’s what makes the show very, very special. … You appreciate the effort,” he said.

Although he’s sad about the outcome this season he’s already moving on. “Life goes on,” said the dancer. “Not everyone gets to be a winner unless they choose to be. Winning is a mentality.”

Brinkley-Cook said her mother told her things happen

Brinkley-Cook unexpectedly joined the show after her mother, Christie Brinkley got injured. She revealed what she had to say about the elimination.

“She just told me that things like this happen in life and everything leads to some other great door opening,” she revealed to People. “Our team name is ‘SailaV’ — c’est la vie, such is life. This stuff happens!”

The model doesn’t regret stepping in for her mother. “I’m so lucky I had this experience,” she said. “I never in a million years would’ve thought I would have been on this show. I didn’t sign up, I didn’t do the press trip before. I literally jumped in for the first performance.”

This is certainly not the first time the show had a shocking elimination. Bobby Bones won last season despite him not getting the best scores.

Dancing with the Stars then returned with several changes. Judges now get the power to save a team. The voting also changed this season. It looks like despite these changes there could still be shocking eliminations.
