‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 27: Everything We Know So Far
If you’re a fan of Dancing With the Stars, it’s officially time to start getting excited. Fall TV is soon to be well underway, which includes Season 27 of your favorite dancing show. From when to watch to who will be appearing on the show this year, here’s everything we know so far.
Season 27 premieres on Sept. 24
Mark your calendars for Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at 8 p.m. ET. DWTS will be returning to ABC during this hot time slot, which as it turns out, might be a bit too hot. If you’re a Big Bang Theory fan, you may have to think ahead with your DVR or streaming options, as its Season 12 premiere is airing at the exact same time on CBS. Young Sheldon will also be returning with Season 2 at 8:30 p.m., so be sure to coordinate your TV schedule accordingly.
Your favorite judges will be returning …
Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli will all be returning to the judges’ table for Season 27. This comes as a relief to some fans, considering Goodman suggested he may have been calling it quits after 13 seasons back in April 2018.
He told The Daily Mail at the time, “This may be my last season. It’s the end of my contract and they may not want to have me any more. They might have had enough of me. I don’t want to retire totally but I’m quite happy doing nothing — reading a book and pottering in the garden.”
The guest judges have yet to be announced, but based off of previous seasons, you can likely get excited for whoever they choose.
… as will your favorite hosts
You’ll see a few more familiar faces, as well, consider Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will be returning for their hosting duties. Season 27 will be the seventh season the two have hosted together, so their dynamic is clearly loved.
Bergeron has been hosting DWTS since its first ever season in 2005. Andrews, however, joined the team in Season 18, following Lisa Canning, Samantha Harris, and Brooke Burke-Charvet previously holding the position.
The cast will be filled with celebrities again
Do you remember back when the DWTS contestants were full-on celebrities? Well, you can expect a return to the cast being a mix of “actors, reality stars, actresses, and singers,” according to Good Housekeeping.
The cast of Season 26 was made up of all athletes, including NBA players and Olympic figure skaters. While it surely made for some impressive strength and moves on the dance floor, we’re excited to see what some of our favorite celebrities have in store.
ABC hasn’t yet revealed who will be hitting the stage, but we’re sure it will be an announcement worth waiting for.
A spin-off will be airing in the fall
In case you’re like us and can’t get enough of DWTS, you can even look forward to a spin-off airing later in the fall. Dancing With the Stars Juniors will be coming to ABC on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. And yes, it’s exactly as it sounds — famous kids will be competing, and we’re sure they’ll be bringing some impressive moves.
