There’s nothing quite like a night on the couch watching Hannah Montana to make you feel like a teenager again. Thanks to Disney Plus, even spin-off shows will be available for binge-watching. What will be available on Disney Plus at its launch date? When will shows like High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and Lizzie McGuire premiere on the streaming platform? Here’s what we know about the Disney Channel originals coming to Disney Plus.

Disney Channel shows and movies will be available on Disney Plus

If you’re looking for some binge-worthy Disney Channel shows, you may not have to look further than Disney’s streaming platform. Disney Plus will house multiple television shows produced by Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic. It will also hold Disney Channel original series, from That’s So Raven to Hannah Montana to The Suite Life of Zack and Cody to Bunk’d.

Listed among Disney Plus’ Day-One Library are Disney Channel original movies. That includes High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical: Senior Year, directed by Kenny Ortega. Films based on Disney Channel shows, such as Hannah Montana: The Movie and The Suite Life Movie will be available at Disney Plus’ launch. Even seasonal movies, like Twitches, Halloweentown, and Halloweentown 2: Kalabar’s Revenge will be available on this streaming platform.

‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ will be exclusive to Disney Plus

There will be plenty of original content on this platform, featuring characters from Marvel, Star Wars, and even Disney Channel. These television shows will be exclusive to the streaming platform and add a new twist to iconic characters and beloved movies.

One spin-off coming to Disney Plus is High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. This television show will feature music from the original movie but will feature a new cast of characters. According to Variety, cast members include Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Kate Reinders, Sofia Wylie, Matt Cornett, Dara Reneé, Julia Lester, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Larry Saperstein, and Mark St. Cyr.

This is not the only series based on Disney Channel’s original content. At the D23 Expo, Hillary Duff announced she would reprise her role as Lizzie McGuire for a rebooted version of the television show, premiering on the streaming platform. There is no official premiere date for this television show. However, the original version of Lizzie McGuire and The Lizzie McGuire movie will both be available for streaming at Disney Plus’ launch date.

When does Disney Plus come out?

After months of anticipation, Disney Plus is finally about to premiere. This platform will first be available for viewers in the United States and house thousands of hours of content. That includes specials outside of Disney Channel, produced by National Geographic, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. There is also a bundle available, where subscribers can have access to Hulu, ESPN+, and Disney Plus for a discounted rate.
