Will & Grace‘s original run

The original run of Will & Grace first wrapped back in 2006. Spanning eight seasons, the show was critically acclaimed throughout its eight-year run. In fact, the show was so well-received, that all four leading actors, Messing, Erick McCormack, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally, all earned Emmy Awards for their outstanding performances. With such a great first run and a storyline that wrapped up beautifully, nobody was expecting anything more from the show.

Will & Grace reboot

However, opinions quickly changed after the star-studded cast released a 9-minute special election episode back in 2016. The special was only created to urge people to get out and vote, but it triggered and overwhelmingly positive response and a wave of nostalgia from diehard fans. With such great feedback, Will & Grace creatives decided that it was the appropriate time to bring back the series for a reboot.

Is Will & Grace canceled

The reboot has been going strong for two seasons, but the cast recently announced that the time had come to say goodbye to the show once more. Taking to her Instagram page, Messing announced that the upcoming season, which premieres in January of 2020, will be the last one. Though fans were sad, the cast of the show assured them that the final season of the show will be incredible.

Demi Lovato joins the cast of Will & Grace

One of the best things about Will & Grace is the number of famous guest stars the show has featured. Everyone from Madonna to James Earl Jones has appeared on the show, and now Lovato has officially joined the cast. Lovato has landed herself the role of Jenny. The role is a recurring one, so we can expect to see Lovato’s acting chops on at least two episodes and potentially more. This is a huge deal for Lovato, not just because the show is so iconic, but also because this is the first time Lovato has acted on television in four years. Her last television role was back in 2015 for two episodes of the show From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

Will & Grace cast shows support of Lovato

Lovato seems to have truly enjoyed her time on the show. She took to her Instagram page to express glee about her new acting venture. She also expressed excitement about returning in the future to expand upon her role. “They’re the dream team. Honored to be a part of this cast. Last night was amazing and I can’t wait to return for more!!! Thank you @nbcwillandgrace,” Lovato wrote as the caption fo a picture of herself sitting amongst the main cast members.

The cast of Will & Grace seemed to enjoy Lovato’s presence as much as she enjoyed being on the show. Messing was quick to comment underneath Lovato’s post and praise her for her sweet demeanor. She also sweetly welcomed her to the Will & Grace family. “DEMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!! You are so sweet. I am so happy you came to play with us! You are now officially part of the family, Demi Lovato,” Messing wrote.

Taking it one step further, Messing also reposted the picture to her own page with a sweet caption that called Lovato her little sister. “It’s official! Demi Lovato is part of the family! I’m adopting her as my baby sister. She’s amazing (obvi) and I can’t wait for y’all to see her,” Messing exclaimed.

We truly can’t wait to see what Lovato will add to the Will & Grace world. January can’t come quickly enough. Though we’re sad that this will be the last season of the iconic show, we know that the best is yet to come.
