Demi Lovato Celebrates Six Months of Sobriety With New Tattoo
This past weekend, the singer shared a photo of her new tattoo on Instagram and fans are loving the tiny work of art as well as the meaning behind it.
It is a small rose tattoo
Tiny tattoos have become a trend many people have got on board with. Tattoo lovers everywhere love the simplicity and minimalist designs and have found that smaller ink has a deeper meaning than most would think.
Demi Lovato just recently got in on the trend with a simple yet powerful work of art.
On Saturday, Lovato posted a picture showing off yet another tattoo to her Instagram Story.
Many know Demi Lovato is no stranger to tattoos, but this one holds a very special meaning.
Lovato took a trip to LA to get her tattoo done by Winter Stone, an artist who has tattooed celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Joe Jonas, and Mandy Moore to name a few.
The singer showed off the dainty, thin lined rose on the side of her finger and included the caption “Obsessed”.
Before getting this new ink, Demi Lovato already had a rose tattooed on her forearm but had only gotten it to cover-up from a small kiss imprint she had impulsively done when she was a teenager.
Since Demi Lovato was celebrating being six-months sober this past weekend, a rose was the perfect symbol to commemorate such a great achievement.
Roses often symbolize new hope and new beginnings, which is probably why Lovato went with it to show that she is looking forward to a new year, happy and healthier than ever.
Demi Lovato is still recovering
Not only did Demi Lovato celebrate six-months of sobriety with a tattoo, but she also celebrated with a delicious Funfetti cake that is fitting for any occasion.
Along with posting a photo of her sobriety chip to her Instagram Story, the singer also shared a photo of a slice of cake along with a note her team had sent to congratulate her.
In July, Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital after suffering an apparent drug overdose in her home.
Shortly after her hospital stay, the singer then entered a rehab facility and sought out treatment until she left in November.
Since completing treatment, Demi Lovato has slowly been easing back into social media and sharing posts every once in a while in order to keep fans updated.
Just last month, Demi Lovato shared how much she has learned in the past year by writing on her Instagram Story, “I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones,” she wrote. “Thankful for my fans, friends, family, and everyone who supported me through this year. God bless.”
The singer has yet to reveal what exactly happened the night of her overdose but has promised fans that she will tell them once the time is right.
“Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened, and what my life is like today,” Lovato wrote on Twitter. “But until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying.”
Demi Lovato is taking each day at a time and new ink is the perfect way to commemorate such an amazing milestone in her life!
