When Brie Larson dons the Captain Marvel costume, she becomes a superhero. She commands respect with her leadership skills and her sheer strength. But how strong is Larson herself? And does she do her own stunts?

How strong is Brie Larson?
According to a USA Today article, Larson is seriously strong. Perhaps she’s even super strong. She trained, according to the article, for nine months to get ready to play Captain Marvel.
Larson would do “a half-hour in the morning of stretching and stuff on [her] own. Then [she would] go with [her] trainer for an hour and a half.” After taking a break for some food and a short rest, she would then train more in “the stunt gym,” where she would “work with the stunt team.”
She’s clearly a hard worker, which you can see from the results in the movie. She trains hard so that she can be authentic. Larson doesn’t want to disappoint.
So…does Brie Larson do her own stunts in ‘Captain Marvel’?
Mostly, yes. There are probably some that are considered too dangerous, but according to the USA Today article, she does most of the stunts required to play Captain Marvel. And Larson herself wouldn’t have it any other way.
According to USA Today, Larson ” just assumed everybody did their own stunts.” This seems to confirm that she did a lot of stunts in the Captain Marvel movie. The article goes on to state that by the time filming started, Larson “was able to deadlift 225 pounds, do 10 pull-ups in a row and hip-thrust 400 pounds.” Captain Marvel’s producer, Jonathan Schwartz, told USA Today that “on any other Marvel movie, stunt doubles would be doing 99 percent of what she’s doing.”

Larson is definitely capable of some serious stunts. According to the producer, “we sort of had to say, ‘You need to get some rest. Stop pushing yourself so hard.’” However, in the end, it was probably all worth it.
As Schwartz says, “[when watching the] movie, the amount of practical stunts that she’s doing by herself will boggle your mind.” The producer adds that many fans will probably wonder how “they let her do that.” Some of the stunts were probably difficult but we’re sure that after all her training, Brie Larson was up to the task.
Her costar in the movie, Samuel L. Jackson, was treated to videos of Larson’s intense workouts. He had this to say: “She had one video where she was powerlifting like 250 pounds. She sent another video of her pushing a Jeep up a hill.” Sounds exciting and definitely like something that requires superhuman amounts of strength.
As Jackson says, Larson is “pretty ripped.” She’s definitely in good shape, some would even say she’s in super shape. That is fitting since she is playing a superhero. Captain Marvel is a great role for Larson, and it seems that she really takes it seriously.
She is almost like a real-life superhero for doing most of her own stunts. So does Brie Larson do her own stunts in Captain Marvel? The answer is: mostly, yes.
