Did Dorit Kemsley From ‘RHOBH’ Adopt Other Dogs From Vanderpump Dogs?

Vanderpump Dogs executive director, Dr. John Sessa may have gone rogue when he appeared on the radio show, On the Rocks and dropped a huge bombshell.

Sessa gives his account of what occurred when Dorit Kemsley from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills adopted Lucy, a dog from Vanderpump Dogs. The season of the show began with the failed adoption. Kemsley adopted a dog through Vanderpump’s dog rescue foundation and according to Kemsley, the dog nipped the kids and bit her husband. She claimed she found the dog a loving home, but the pup ultimately ended up in a shelter.

Rumors swirled and the story became tabloid fodder. Cast members hint that Vanderpump planted the story in the media through her employees. But Sessa came on the show to tell his side of the story.

Sessa says what you see isn’t exactly what happened

“The sequence of how everything went down was very different,” Sessa told On the Rocks. He recounts that Vanderpump was dealing with her brother’s death and that his funeral was at the end of May. Then she was filming Vanderpump Rules, opening Tom Tom and dealing with Yulan.

Sessa said the timeline Teddi Mellencamp presented was inaccurate (like every Real Housewife, Sessa has the receipts). He said he signed location agreements on a Wednesday. Sessa then got word on Sunday that one of his dogs ended up at a kill shelter.

He says Lucy is the second dog Kemsley hasn’t had luck with through Vanderpump Dogs. The first one had a similar story. “She adopts a three to four year old purebred yorkshire terrior,” Sessa explains. “Dorit adopted the dog, she loved the dog, Madison. Two weeks later she says it is not going to work out, the dog is biting my family.” He notes this story sounds simliar to what happened with Lucy.

Sessa says the first dog was returned to Vanderpump Dogs. He adds his adoption coordinator was in constant contact with Kemsley asking how the dog and the family were doing. “No response,” Sessa asserts. He adds that since the first experience went south, he insisted on giving Kemsley a dog he personally raised from a puppy in his own home. He has an agreement with shelters that he will home pregnant mother dogs and her newborn puppies.

Again, he says his adoption coordinator reached out to Kemsley about the second adoption. “Sunday I get a message from a kill shelter in Orange County that they have one of my dogs,” he said. “Thank you, God I microchipped.”

This is what Sessa learned

When Sessa was contacted by the shelter, he was told that a reality celebrity didn’t want the dog and dropped the dog to a shelter. “I didn’t know she had given the dog to a different, ‘better home.’ So what was so bad with the home in the first place that she had to give it to a better home?”

Bottom line Sessa does not think Kemsley did the right thing. “What upsets me is that everything thinks Lisa planted this,” he says. “This is reality meeting real world. Lisa was in the middle, trying to open Tom Tom, trying to open the Vegas location.”

Sessa adds he got into a heated argument because Vanderpump and husband Ken Todd insisted Sessa protection Kemsley and her husband. “But I said, ‘f**k you, I’m protecting the foundation,'” he said. “I don’t have loyalty to Dorit. I have loyalty to my foundation and I have loyalty to my dogs.”
