She may no longer be part of the Teen Mom franchise, but Farrah Abraham still has plenty of followers online. The star used to be one of MTV’s most infamous stars, but Abraham is now making a name for herself with her many businesses, social media profiles, and outspoken nature regarding how she really feels about others in the entertainment industry. While we may know her best for her controversial parenting tactics regarding her 10-year-old daughter, she’s now garnering attention for what she had to say about Jenelle Evans and Amber Portwood.
Evans and Portwood are consistently in the news cycles these days. And it seems Abraham may be throwing shade at MTV for some of Portwood’s latest issues, too. Here’s what she said.
Amber Portwood has found herself in more legal trouble
We know Jenelle Evans’ latest drama includes losing and regaining custody of her kids and possibly faking her dog’s death for publicity, but Amber Portwood has also found herself in hot water. Us Weekly reports Portwood had an altercation with her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, on July 5 — and this led to her arrest. Court documents explain Portwood used a machete to attempt to fight with Glennon while he was holding their 14-month-old son.
According to an insider, a lot was leading up to this blow-up, however. “For the most part, it has been good, but lately a few issues have popped up that have made her question things and challenge her trust in him,” the insider said. As for Portwood’s future with Teen Mom, it looks like that may be uncertain, too. According to TMZ, her three felony charges could mean the end of her being on the show, too.
Farrah Abraham just said Amber Portwood and Jenelle Evans ‘failed as mothers’
While the entire legal process has yet to play out for the star, Abraham is already giving her opinions on both Portwood and Evans’ latest drama. Us Weekly reports Abraham said of Evans and her husband, David Eason, “And for her to choose a horrible man over her kids, she’s a failure as a mom. … I don’t think any woman who chooses a man and abuse over her children is in the right state of mind to have kids.” Abraham then added that Portwood’s current situation wasn’t any better, either. “They failed as mothers. The end.”
Some may find it odd that Abraham is daring to judge Portwood and Evans considering how much flack she’s gotten for her own parenting. But we can’t forget that Abraham has a long history of feuding with her MTV co-stars. E! News reminds us back in 2017, Abraham issued a cease and desist letter to Portwood’s legal team after Portwood allegedly made “false and defamatory statements” about the star to the media.
Abraham may partially blame Teen Mom production for Portwood’s trouble
While Abraham may think Portwood is a failure as a mom, it seems she may also be putting some blame on MTV for what’s transpired. Us Weekly reports she told TMZ that Portwood may be “doing her hardest to be a great mom,” she’s still “not in good relationships” or putting herself in positions to succeed. “And, I don’t know, still being on Teen Mom maybe hasn’t made her tougher or [made her learn] her lesson,” Abraham went on to say. “Amber has always sought help, and how much help do you need? I think she just needs to eliminate the things that are making her angry, which is a relationship [and] maybe the production she works on.”
It’s no secret that Abraham and MTV have duked it out in the past. Us Weekly notes an insider said Abraham was fired from the network for participating in the adult entertainment industry, so putting some blame on MTV for Portwood’s problems isn’t too surprising. Hopefully, both Portwood and Evans can sort out their current legal battles and get back on the right track.
