Did Kim Kardashian Get a Voice Coach When She Decided to Become a Lawyer?

Plenty of ink has been spilled analyzing the many ways that the Kardashian-Jenner sisters have changed over the years. With Keeping Up with the Kardashians on the air for more than a decade, fans got the opportunity to see the sisters — especially the youngest two — literally grow up before their eyes.

Of course, it wasn’t just maturation that was behind the transformations taking place. Many believe that at least some sisters have undergone extensive plastic surgery to change their appearances

Now fans are extending the scrutiny of these changes to an unexpected place: Kim Kardashian West‘s voice. Did the reality TV star undergo voice lessons, and — if so — does it have something to do with her new career goals?

When Keeping Up with the Kardashians first premiered back in 2006, Kim Kardashian was definitely the most talked about member of the family. This is in no small part due to the leaked sex tape featuring her and former flame Ray J.

Thanks to that incident and her tumultuous love life, Kardashian earned a public reputation as a party girl. She was often the butt of jokes about her shallowness, and these got even worse when her extremely short marriage to Kris Humphries fell apart.

That was the reputation still surrounding Kardashian when, shortly after leaving Humphries, she began a relationship with hip-hop superstar Kanye West. Since Kardashian was still legally married when she got engaged to West and already had a reputation as someone who wasn’t very serious about her relationships, fans were quick to call the engagement a publicity stunt and a sham.

Kardashian and West proved the critics wrong by entering into a long-lasting marriage and growing a large family

As Kardashian’s image and focus shifted from being a well-publicized socialite to being a wife and mother, she also shifted her career goals. The reality TV star had already leveraged her considerable influence in the fashion and entertainment world into a successful shapewear business, but she had her sights set higher.

When Kardashian announced that she would be working on a law degree, critics once again mocked her and make jokes about her ability to follow through on such an ambitious plan.

Just like before, Kardashian proved the haters wrong by leaning into her commitment to criminal justice reform. The recently announced conclusion of Keeping Up with the Kardashians means that Kardashian will likely have even more time and resources to dedicate to her new projects in the field of law and criminal justice.

While Kardashian has certainly undergone lots of changes since the earliest days of KUWTK, it takes a pretty dedicated fan to notice changes to her voice.

A recent Reddit thread on precisely that topic questions whether Kardashian worked with a voice coach. “It’s interesting to see how her voice has changed over the years,” the poster noted. Commenters jumped in with theories about the switch. “Pretty sure it’s been media training,” one wrote.

Another suggested that it was the earlier version of her voice that was altered, “I think her earlier voice was just heavily influenced by Paris [Hilton].”

Another noted that a change in voice is just a normal part of growing up: “Some of it I think is just normal. I definitely had a certain speech pattern in high school that I thought was cool and then a different one as a dirty college kid and now that I’m in the professional world I have a different more adult way of speaking.”

Now that Kardashian is working toward professional goals in a different setting, it makes sense that she would want to have a voice that’s appropriate for the legal world.
