Did Mandy Moore’s Fiance Ask Milo Ventimiglia for Her Hand in Marriage?
When This Is Us cast members sat down with Ellen DeGeneres Monday, Milo Ventimiglia shared his thoughts on his TV show wife Mandy Moore’s real-life fiance.
Earlier this month, Moore, 33, became engaged to Taylor Goldsmith, her boyfriend of more than two years. She soon informed her on-screen family of actors via a group chat, People reported.
In The Ellen DeGeneres Show appearance, Ventimiglia, who was joined by Moore and co-star Sterling K. Brown, said he has met Goldsmith and does approve of him. “Taylor is the kind of soul, as Mandy is, the most beautiful of human beings,” Ventimiglia said. “So the two of them coming together, it’s like it’s right, and it’s good. We are all very happy for them.” Emmy-winning cast member Brown voiced his agreement with, “Amen.”
When asked if he is possessive of Moore, being her TV husband, the actor responded, “No, not at all … I didn’t get asked for her hand in marriage, but at the same time, I was OK with it. It was fine.”
Goldsmith has met the whole This Is Us cast, Moore said. “Everybody’s very close. Everyone’s significant others and what not, we’re like one big family. We really are, as cheesy and gross as that sounds.”
The couple got engaged at their home on Sept. 11, news outlets reported.

Goldsmith is a member of the Indie rock band Dawes. The two began dating in 2015. Earlier that year, Moore had split from Ryan Adams after six years of marriage.
Moore hit the Emmys red carpet on Sept. 16 wearing her new sparkling, round-cut engagement ring. The starlet wore a Carolina Herrera dress, and her other custom jewelry was Jennifer Meyer.
