Did Marvel Just Confirm This Avenger Will Be Resurrected?

Following the events of Infinity War and Endgame, MCU fans bid farewell to some of the most beloved heroes in the MCU. From Tony Stark’s heartwrenching denouement to Captain America’s relinquishing of the mantle and Black Widow’s sacrifice, the film concluded a ten-year journey in epic fashion. However, as a result, several of the Avengers we came to know and love died.

Thanos sacrificed Gamora to achieve his end goal, Stark and Widow sacrificed themselves, Loki died at the hands of Thanos, and the list goes on and on. However, how many Avengers are gone for good?

Rumor has it Marvel is planning a Black Widow trilogy with Johansson at the center; how exactly would this work without remaining in the past the entire time? In addition, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige recently discussed another pivotal character, Loki, leading many to wonder if the God of Mischief will, once again, return to the world of the living following his most recent death.

Why Loki may come back to life

The Disney+ series Loki will, theoretically, focus on wherever and whenever Loki winds up after stealing the Tesseract in Endgame; meaning, the character could return without him featuring in the main timeline. However, Kevin Feige spoke out on the character, explaining that he will be of relevance in an upcoming cinematic installment.

According to BGR, when discussing Phase 4, Kevin Feige revealed that, though he doesn’t know if it’s been mentioned already, Loki will tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, similar to how WandaVision is set to segue into the second Strange film as well. However, it’s likely that Loki will have a much smaller role.

If Loki will feature in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is set to take place following the events of Endgame, does this mean the writers are planning to bring the character back to life — resurrect the mischief man who seems incapable of dying permanently? While resurrection is a possibility, it’s not the only explanation

This is the Multiverse of Madness we’re talking about

While Loki may return to the world of the living, it’s all quite possible that he will exist in one of the many wheres or whens the superheroes wind up in during the course of Doctor Strange 2. Loki may not exist in the main timeline, but he may still be alive in an alternate one.

It’s quite possible that Loki has a small scene in Doctor Strange 2, which links up with his journey in the standalone Disney+ series. WandaVision is likely going to lead to Scarlet Witch fracturing reality; thus, anything is really possible, and Loki can appear without returning to the world of the living. However, to all the Loki fans out there – who love Tom Hiddleston — here’s to hoping Marvel decides to bring him back to life, as watching him mess things up in the main timeline is always entertaining.
