Did Meghan Markle Make Prince Harry Give Up Hunting?
There has been a lot of drama surrounding Duchess Meghan Markle and her role in the British Royal Family as of late. Obviously, the former actress’ presence amongst the Windsor clan has certainly stirred the pot quite a bit. While royal women are typically seen as more demure and laid-back –Markle has brought her outspoken and can-do Hollywood attitude to the U.K. and it’s been a bit of an adjustment for some members of the royal family and their longtime staffers.
Since marrying Prince Harry in May 2018, two of Markle’s royal staffers have resigned, and there have been whispers that the duchess is demanding and difficult to work with. Daily Mail reported, “It is said palace staff have never experienced anything remotely like Meghan’s formidable work ethic, matched only by the incessant stream of ideas about how to shape her role. Though the aides see her enthusiasm as well-meaning, her up and at ’em West Coast energy is an uncomfortable fit with the more formal ethos of some of the palace staff.” There have also been rumors that Markle is forcing her husband, Prince Harry to change some of his beloved long-time traditions namely–giving up hunting.
Meghan Markle has no issues with her husband hunting
The former Suits alum is an avid animal lover and friend to PETA. However, though she’s no fan of guns or hunting, she’s not going to tell her very grown husband what he can and cannot do. On Boxing Day — (December 26th) it’s traditional for the members of the royal family to go on a hunting expedition at Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s Sandringham estate. Just like he’s done almost every year of his life, Prince Harry partook in his beloved pastime with his father Prince Charles and his brother, Prince William.
A true partnership
One of the reasons why Prine Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle’s romance is so enviable is that they are able to be themselves. They are true partners who stand together even why naysayers question their relationship. A royal insider told Daily Mail, “Harry went out as usual for the shoot after a hearty breakfast yesterday with William and the others, and Markle was apparently chill with it. It’s completely untrue that Her Royal Highness has banned the Duke from shooting. Harry believes shooting is a sustainable field sport, and she won’t stop him.”
Finding her footing
It’s clear that in recent months the press seems to have turned against Markle, and there have been rumors that she and Prince William have had some friction. We’re not sure if her Americaness is the cause of this backlash or her mix-race heritage. However, we do know that change can be a big adjustment for anyone –especially those who have long-admired the royal family. We just hope hat Markle continues to be exactly who she is and her marriage to Prince Harry continues to flourish.
More than anything, we hope that she’s not letting all of the negativity aggravate her during this very special time in her life.
