Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Just Snub the Queen?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven’t had the easiest time being royal. They live in the court of opinion. Everyone has something to say about everything they do. They can’t even go on vacation without people complaining.

Despite the naysayers and the haters, the royal family does go on trips to relax. Certain members of the royal family typically go to Balmoral, the Queen’s estate in Scotland, to spend some time while the Queen is on her two month holiday each summer. But this year, things haven’t gone according to plan.

Who is going on the trip?

Prince William and Kate Middleton agreed to go to Balmoral, along with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Surprisingly, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle declined to come on the trip.

Why did Markle and Prince Harry decline?

Sources have claimed that the reason that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turned down the Queen’s invitation had to do with their new son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.

“Harry and Meghan had no plans to go to Balmoral this summer as they felt Archie was too young,” a source told The Sun.

“It’s a bit odd, as his age didn’t stop them taking him to Ibiza for a week and then to see Elton John in France.”

The @WeAreInvictusGames, of which His Royal Highness is Founding Patron, has been selected as charity partner for the @MLB 2019 series. Prince Harry has spoken previously about safety being important to the couple when it comes to travel.

“If they want privacy or protection — which was Harry’s excuse for taking private jets — there is no more protected or private holiday destination than the Queen’s Scottish home,” the source continued.

“It’s all very hunting, shooting, fishing up at Balmoral, so maybe that put Meghan off. She has never been to Balmoral and the Queen was disappointed they’re not going.”

Harry and Markle’s recent travel

Prince Harry and Markle have recently been facing scrutiny about their aforementioned trip to France. The two flew to Elton John’s home in Nice by private jet. The bashing of the royal couple as a result of the trip got so bad that eventually, the famed singer had to speak out on their behalf.

“I am deeply distressed by today’s distorted and malicious account in the press surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s private stay at my home in Nice last week,” he captioned a photo of Markle and Harry on Instagram.

“Prince Harry’s mother, Diana Princess Of Wales, was one of my dearest friends. I feel a profound sense of obligation to protect Harry and his family from the unnecessary press intrusion that contributed to Diana’s untimely death.”

“After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home. To maintain a high level of much-needed protection, we provided them with a private jet flight. To support Prince Harry’s commitment to the environment, we ensured their flight was carbon neutral, by making the appropriate contribution to Carbon Footprint™.”

“I highly respect and applaud both Harry and Meghan’s commitment to charity and I’m calling on the press to cease these relentless and untrue assassinations on their character that are spuriously crafted on an almost daily basis.”

Since then, Prince Harry has launched a travel initiative called Travalyst which will work to help offset the harm that traveling does to the environment and certain communities.
