Rumors of Prince William cheating on Kate Middleton with Rose Hanbury may have simmered down a bit and, despite the ugliness of the gossip, the couple has moved on and even reportedly found something positive in the buzz about an affair.
Their marriage is ‘still going strong’
While the rumors of an affair could have shaken their marriage, Us Weekly reports that the couple is “still going strong,” despite headlines about an alleged affair with Hanbury.
Following the reports, Prince Harry’s lawyers reportedly threatened legal action against a tabloid for reporting that he cheated on Middleton.
The rumors forced them to “examine their relationship,” however, as a source noted: “Kate finds the rumors hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online.”
The insider noted: “It forced her and William to sit back and examine their relationship, which they realized they should have been doing more often.”
They’re ‘getting back on track’
The cheating rumors no doubt took a toll but they carried on, taking the time to focus on their marriage, as a second source explained: “[They are] determined to pull through it and are doing a great job at getting their marriage back on track again.”
They added: “It’s not unusual to have a few hiccups in a marriage, especially after eight years, and Kate and William are no different. They’re still going strong. Regardless of their ups and downs, they love each other dearly and their kids are the most important thing in their lives.”
Middleton and Prince William were all smiles at Trooping the Colour
Despite the rumors, the couple was all smiles at Trooping the Colour, which celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s birthday. Prince William and Middleton were seen smiling and waving from the Balcony at Buckingham Palace with their three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1.
Prince Louis made his debut at the event, winning over royal fans when he waved and excitedly watched the planes overhead. Eagle-eyed fans noted that he wore the same outfit that Prince Harry wore as a child at Trooping the Colour and that his dad had also worn the shorts and shirts when he was a tyke.
Prince William and Middleton recently celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary. They met in 2001 while at university, dated, and broke up for a brief time before reuniting and eventually getting engaged in 2010. They were married in April 2011. This is the first time they have endured rumors of infidelity, though there have been reports that William had a “roving eye” while he was still dating Middleton. These recent rumors, according to another source, “didn’t go down well with Kate.”
Prince William and Middleton reportedly are “concerned” about Hanbury following the cheating rumors, with a source telling Hollywood Life: “It doesn’t just hurt them, they are very concerned for Rose. She’s a married woman with children, and she’s not used to this kind of public scrutiny. She’s a friend of not only Kate’s but also the entire family, so this is upsetting for everyone.”
