Did ‘RHOA’ Porsha Williams’ Net Worth Drop?
Porsha Williams from The Real Housewives of Atlanta has seen her net worth rise and fall in the past few years. The expectant mother, who was recently hospitalized during her pregnancy, is an entrepreneur with a lengthy resume. At one point her net worth was extremely high but then dropped quite a bit.
Why did her net worth fluctuate, what is she doing now and how is being pregnant helping her bottom line?
Williams was once worth $16 million
Williams was married to former NFL Quarterback Kordell Stewart, whose net worth was $16 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Stewart made the bulk of his fortune playing for teams like Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens. At one point he held a contract worth $27 million over five years. He was also considered to be one of the most overpaid players too.
Stewart and Williams married in 2011 but divorced in 2013. Unfortunately for Williams, she signed a prenuptial agreement that left with her no support following the divorce. This meant Williams received none of Stewart’s assets or alimony.
Her net worth plunged
Williams went from being worth millions to only $500,000, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Her divorce was finalized in 2014 and she had nowhere else to go but up. She first tried her hand at a singing career, releasing a single debut on iTunes in 2014, according to Celeb Tattler. Then, she became a Real Housewife in 2015. And a contestant on The New Celebrity Apprentice and even appeared in the shark film spoof, Sharknado 5.
She was originally paid $800,000 a season for being a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, according to Reality Blurb.
But now her net worth is on the rise
Some report that Williams’ net worth is about $5 million at this point. The net worth increase may be accurate as Radar Online revealed Williams may have gotten a pay bump for her baby bump. The reality personality recently announced her engagement and pregnancy with boyfriend Dennis McKinley, People reports.
Williams’ news was a true blessing after suffering a miscarriage six years ago. “The thought of me getting that blessing after praying for it for so long and getting that blessing with someone who is just as excited as me — it’s Dennis’ first child, just like me — and it’s something we’ve both always wanted. … It’s like a dream come true,” she said to People.
A new baby means more money?
And the baby news certainly resonated with Bravo as the network gave her a raise for season 11. “Porsha was making $800,000 last season, but this season she is getting a massive raise of over $1.25 million,” an insider told Radar Online. Williams was the lowest paid RHOA housewife but Kenya Moore’s departure freed more money to pay Williams. In fact, NeNe Leaks made $2.5 million for last season, Radar Online reports.
“Porsha is going to film through October and it is going to be all about the baby,” the insider told Radar. Williams expressed excitement to Radar Online about her storyline. But the 37-year-old was recently hospitalized due to extreme pain, two months before her due date. An inside source told US Weekly that Williams’ pain was from fibroid complications and the baby is doing “fine.”
