Did Sarah Ferguson Feel Insecure At Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Wedding?
It’s no secret that Duchess Sarah Ferguson has a sordid history with the British Royal Family. Though she was the red-headed royal darling when she married Prince Andrew –Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s second youngest son in 1986 –Fergie’s time in the royal spotlight came to a screeching halt in the ’90s with a series of monumental scandals.
Did Sarah Ferguson feel insecure at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding?
Though Fergie was the picture of poise at Duchess Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s grand royal wedding, she was reportedly a nervous wreck on the inside. Apparently, Prince Harry had to go toe to toe with Buckingham Palace to secure his aunt invitation to his wedding. Sadly, Sarah Ferguson knew not everyone welcomed her presence.
When Fergie arrived at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor alone –she was all waves and smiles. However, body language expert Judi James noticed that Fergie was really feeling insecure and vulnerable. On the Pod Save the Queen podcast, James explained, “She was doing these little baby waves and a slightly creeping walk. She was clearly doing a good act of lowering her own status, it was as though she was creeping in via the servants’ entrance. It’s interesting how much effort she was putting into looking that brave.”
Why does the British Royal Family hate Sarah Ferguson?
Though most members of the British Royal Family tolerate Fergie –Prince Philip absolutely loathes the Duchess of York. It all began in 1992. Fergie was photographed topless with oil tycoon, John Bryan. Bryan was also sucking Fergie’s toes in the pictures. Apparently, no one had the foresight to warn the royal family that the photos were going to be published, so the Windsors found out about them over breakfast while reading the morning newspapers. Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York separated soon after that, and their divorce was finalized in 1996.
No one in the British Royal Family trusts Sarah Ferguson
Affairs and maritial scandals are one thing, but there is another reson why no one in the British Royal Family trusts Fergie. In 2010, the Duchess of York was caught by an undercover journalist who offered her $500,000 for access to the royal family. Fergie was caught on tape pocketing $40,000 in cash as a down payment.
Apparently, Prince Harry was not able to get his aunt an invitation to his private wedding reception even though her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended. An insider commented on Ferguson’s snub from the evening party, saying, “She is not a member of the royal family anymore and Prince Charles simply doesn’t have time for her. He just can’t see why she is still such a big part of his brother’s life.”
