Did ‘Southern Charm’ Star Kathryn Dennis’ Rumored Alcohol And Drug Use Cause Her Split From Hunter Price?

One of the few highlights of Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis’ life in recent months was her relationship with former America’s Got Talent contestant Hunter Price. As her custody fight with Thomas Ravenel got nastier, Price was by her side and the two posted some sweet moments on social media to let fans know that she was doing just fine despite all of the shocking allegations that Ravenel was throwing her way.

However, the relationship just wasn’t meant to be long term, and the couple has called it quits after dating for eight months. Was it the rumors of her drug and alcohol abuse that led to their split?

Dennis met Hunter Price on New Year’s Eve

Dennis was having dinner with friends in Nashville on New Year’s Eve when she met Price, and she said that they immediately clicked because ”we’re weird, and he gets my weird, and that’s really weird.”

She added that she had lost hope that anyone like Hunter existed in life, and Kathryn Dennis said that Hunter understood what it was like to live life in the spotlight after his stint on America’s Got Talent.

The two went Instagram official in January when she posted a black-and-white pic of the two with a simple black heart emoji in the caption. When fans started asking her who the guy was, Denis responded “My person.”

In February, Dennis posted another pic of her and Price to show fans how happy she was in her new relationship.

“Didn’t think I’d smile like this again but there you are. @hunterpricemusic 🖤,” wrote Dennis in the caption.

Kathryn Dennis’ diamond ring sparked engagement rumors

Just days before People Magazine revealed that Dennis and Hunter had split, she sparked engagement rumors when she posted a pic on Instagram wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger.

The post was a thank you to fans for watching Season 6 of Southern Charm, but all fans could talk about was the diamond ring. Fans started asking Dennis if she was engaged, but she never responded.

Finally, an insider revealed what was really going on between Dennis and Price. The source said that not only are the couple not engaged, but they aren’t together anymore.

“Kathryn is not engaged to anyone but herself. She and Hunter actually split about two weeks ago. Their relationship ran its course. Kathryn is doing well, and staying focused on the kids,” said the source.

Price also posted on social media after the breakup. He didn’t share any pictures or write a lengthy caption. Instead, he simply posted the Queen song Another One Bites the Dust.

Dennis admitted she was drinking again

Over the course of her custody battle with Ravenel, he has made shocking claims about Dennis alleged drug and alcohol abuse. To make matters worse, she failed a court-ordered drug test in June.

The 28-year-old was also involved in two separate car accidents during the month of August, and both times her two children – Kensie, 5, and Saint, 3 – were in the car with her.

After her co-stars questioned her sobriety, Dennis admitted during the Season 6 Southern Charm reunion special that she was drinking alcohol again on occasion, but she made it clear that she wasn’t doing anything illegal.

“It’s not like I’m drinking, though, going out and partying by any means,” added Dennis.

The topic of her sobriety came up when host Andy Cohen and the cast discussed her recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, where many fans thought she was slurring her words.

Craig Conover said Kathryn Dennis looked “uncomfortable or a little spaced out,” and Cameran Eubanks said it looked like “something was the matter.” Dennis didn’t appreciate the insinuation, explaining that her custody battle with Ravenel was stressful and it makes it worse when you have to edit everything you say.

When Austen Kroll challenged her about her comments on WWHL, Dennis fought back.

“Don’t ever think for a f—— second you’re going to come after me and my sobriety,” said Dennis. “You better back the f— up.”

New episodes of Southern Charm will return to Bravo in the spring of 2020.
